Default Hero song holds out at top of chart

Quote:
Hero song holds out at top of chart
X Factor charity single Hero - released to raise money for servicemen and women injured in the line of duty - has made it three weeks running at number one.

The track, recorded in support of the Help For Heroes and the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal, is the fastest selling charity record of the decade and the fastest selling single of 2008.

The chancellor Alistair Darling has already said the Government will waive VAT on the power ballad, chosen for its inspirational title and lyric, and major retailers have announced all profits from the sale of the single will be donated to the Help For Heroes fund.

It's fallen dramatically in the iTunes chart, I doubt it'll last another week. But I'm glad it's raised so much money!

People are buying it because the money goes to a good course, it has nothing to do with poor taste. Though obvs a lot of people do like the song.
