mabe the way its aligned it looks like its next to it. Either that or its the international space station orbiting earth, which looks like its next to the moon ?

To see when the International Space Station passes over go to http://www.heavens-above.com/ and click the 'select from map' or 'from database' links and put in your location. Then click on the ISS link.

Passes over me in the next hour, it's quite a strange feeling knowing there are people up there when you see it.

Edit... it's quite low down next time it is visible. Will be easier to see tomorrow.

Q HOW many moons does the earth have?

A AT least SEVEN. Apart from the big one we can all see, there are another six Near-Earth Asteroids which follow the earth around the sun. The first was discovered in 1997 and is called Cruithne, but six more have been identified since and may one day settle down into a regular orbit.
