Rudolf for the chop? Children are now worried that the most famous reindeer may be in for the chop, literally after the sudden shock of administrators being called into Santa's workshop, after the red suited gift giver became the latest victim of the world wide credit crunch. Rumours are circulating that the butcher chain Todd's Meats has put in a bid for Santa's reindeer, after Santa's sleigh was impounded over unpaid air traffic controll fees. It has been known that Todd's meats, famous for their steak and kidney pies, have been trying to break into the high class game meat pie industry. One meat industry insider said "If Todd's can sell venison pie made from Santa's former reindeer, then they will" It is believed some some insiders that their are buyers all lined up, and some of them are from overseas, for a taste of the bright nosed wonder The reindeer's future became uncertain today when administrators were bought in after Santa's workshop went into administration this morning No one from the administrator or Todds Meats were available to comment. Santa on legal advice has been advised not to make any further comment to the media, after he issued a statement apologising to the good boys and girls about the cancelation of Christmas. A senior elf who did not wish to be named said this was devastating news "There is enough suffering in the world already with this financial downturn, but to kill Rudolf, Donner, Blitzen and the rest will just compound this, but we are powerless to stop this" Industry insiders offered little comfort as one said "This type of reindeer is expensive to maintain and it is the duty of the liquidators to recover monies in any way possible. An offer from a meat company for the reindeer to use in pies would have to be favourably looked upon. There is no room for sentiment in these cases
