Default Derek

Do you think he is the dark deciever as Science called him or a genuine guy who just dislikes the people around him and they are in the wrong?

Discuss.....

Based on his recent behaviour, I think he's sly, manipulative, deceitful and cunning. He loves to 'load the gun for other people to fire' and he loves mixing up trouble in the house.

I think it's a bit of both.

He really doesn't like a lot of people in the house. He sees himself as better at them and looks down on them with disdain. Cos he dislikes them so much, he has no qualms about screwing with them and scheming to get them out. It's good to see such cold gameplaying in the house rather than the usual try to get on with everyone rubbish (that favourite Ant is the master of.)

But he really seems to be relishing his role as the dark deceiver. He orchestrated Science's eviction perfectly, and while I'd have preferred Orlaith to go, you have to be impressed by how Derek has managed to dispacth those housemates he doesn't like. He's partly responsible for the house's attitude towards Orlaith and that she's up for eviction nearly every week.

Derek is the Dark Deceiver, Derek to win!

He's the oldest in the house and is probably completely fed up and bored with the antics of some of the others. Therefore he is entertaining himself as he feels fit. He is playing the game no more than the others. He is manipulative but I think he also has a caring side. He actually listens to Eugene whilst the others just laugh at him.

I must admit, I'm sure I would get sick of being in that house with some of the others!

In the early days I would have sympathised with Derek (and probably Roberto) abut the amount of idiots in the house, which is why I have no problem with Derek's scheming ways. I suppose if he was screwing with housemates I really like (and thats none this year, especially compared to previous years with Helen, Paul, Vic, Bubble, Tickle etc, maybe Makosi this year) then I might have a different view of his manipulation of people. But I dislike most of them as much as he does, do I'm quite happy to see Derek pulling the strings and playing the game in such a cold hearted way. The guy rocks! In real life I probably wouldn't like him at all (I'm definately not a tory and disagree with fox hunting and many of Derek's politics) but in the house he is the Master.

I think he uses his intelligence and maturity to his advantage. He is quietly scheming. A lot of it goes un-noticed. He is exactly what Science said he is. Science was the only other HM who could match his intelligence, and he was the one who figured him out. Unfortunately, by that time, nobody was really listening to Science on account of him shouting his way through the house all the time, so Derek continued his game, and turned that situation to his advantage by claiming that Science was "barking mad".

He is definitely a Dark Deceiver. Whether the public want that or not remains to be seen. His ways have not gone un-noticed by the viewers, so it will either be his downfall or his victory. You decide <---Marcus Bently voice!

I think that Derek is very decietful indeed. He likes to stir things up a bit and then sits back and watches how things play out. he is very good at taking people under his wing and manipulating them. He is funny though when he starts because he is so full of his own self importance and I find people like that hilarious

I agree. I think Derek has done well to get this far and I don't see him doing anything improper.

And I don't go along with all this "dark deceiver" nonsense from Science which will only hinder Derek's chances of winning. If you repeat something long enough people will start to believe it eventually, and Science's message to his own fans is clear: Don't vote for Derek.

See Derek's masterplan in action last night, with his loaded question to Orlaith of "Do you think you'll make it to the final?". Whatever answer she gave, Derek was ready to screw her. And his pompous way of muttering afterwards "silly girl, like I would be so naive to answer that", when she asked him exactly the same question.

The man is a legend. Derek to win (although he never will)

Well during Science's last few weeks in the house, Derek really had it in for him, so it's understandable why Science feels that way.

It's totally understandable why Science feels like this, he was well and truly screwed by Derek.

And I love the Dark Deceiver nickname. Sums Derek up perfectly! I would also be content with the acceptable variant of the Dark Destroyer. (Maybe with these nicknames Derek could make a name for himself as a boxer or WWE wrestler when he gets out of the house!!)

sly lately?? i thought he had been sly all along to be honest - he is a very clever man who manipulates things to suit himself. He is very good at getting the other HMs to go along with him because he is a good talker

Craig keeps going on about how he has nothing left to give the public, but these last couple of weeks have been hilarious. Just to see him break down all the time is quite entertaining. He can't handle anything.
He said he missed science today, thats why Im full of Craig love
