Default Channel 4 explains live feed reduction

I know it's probably nothing new, but just thought I'd post this as it's more official. lol Here's the article:

Quote:
Channel 4 explains live feed reduction

Channel 4 has claimed that the reduction in live feed coverage on this year's Celebrity Big Brother is due to a lack of public demand. The broadcaster said that recent series have seen a fall in the number of viewers using the red button facility to watch the show and revealed that it will be shifting its resources to the official online site. "We thought about this long and hard and we didn't have the live feed for Celebrity Hijack either," said Channel 4 commissioning editor David Williams. "In the summer we found - and it's been a trend over the last couple of series - that less people are watching the stream on red button, but more people are watching the clips on the website." He continued: "The numbers didn't justify [the live feed]. We think people will appreciate that we've put our resources into clips and ensuring a quick turnaround on the website. "There is still overnight coverage and the same sister shows, so I think in terms of Big Brother being in many places, we are doing that more than ever before."

We have to stop watching the clips on the website and mob the portions of live feed so there can be 24/7 LF for BB10.

To be fair on C4, they will be spending less money having to monitor the language (ect.) 24/7

But think of the job cuts! Someone's salary must be plummeting as a result of this controversial decision.

I, myself, never watched live feed due to lack of access; however, I believe everyone should have the opportunity to become immersed in the celebrities' lives! If Big Brother wants its mega-fans to stay mega-fans, they would not make such a brash decision affecting its fans.

Cheers,
ROry

Well obviously. There has been a fall in the amount of viewers that have watched the whole thing so life feed would drop too. I'm sure if ratings went up for the highlights show the live feed ratings would rise proportionally. Next there will be no BBBM, then BBLB..

Oh dear, Looweez.

Don't you panic, dear. I am sure they will resolve this issue and all will be all. In the mean time, I hope you are okay.

Have a good day mate,
Ross.

Hee... I'm not panicking. I just really hope we get more live feed for BB10. Not that I watched it during the day, more like evenings or night. Still.

Still live feed through the night, but then again we will not see any of the mad crazy happy fun stuff they do between 6pm and 11pm each day.

Why don't they just put up on the screen "Remember Big Brother is always watching . . . but you can't!"

Eat cheese, its good for you and taste's great!

On topic, its only CBB so we will be ok. If more people write, emal channel 4 about the lack of live feed then they could do a U turn for BB10, they did say they do listen and act like they did removing 24 hour live feed.

lol true, whole idea of Big Brother is to see all, know all.
I'm sure the idea of our dutch friends was that we become big brother by seeing what they do, i could be wrong. I remember when E4 or could have been c4 that had a multiscreen option.... Its gone backwards insted of thinking forwards, viewers want more options, more choice with what we watch and how we watch it... Shame on channel 4.

I think it rather defeats the point of Big Brother, to be able to watch people 24/7.

Aah yes the multiscreen option, that was sooo good. And do they actually think that 30 second clips on the website will make up for the hours of live feed we'll be missing?

Might i just add, andyman, I have been loving your posts recently.
