I'm slightly biased but I loved Leon's album. IMO, it's the second best album by an XF contestant so far [after Shayne's "Breathless"] Let's put it this way, if you're into pop music, and love big voices and chart music;; it's not for you at all. However if you appreciate blues/jazz music, and are a fan of Michael Buble, then you'll love it. |

P!nk - Funhouse Year of Release - 2008 1. So What [9.8/10]A fiesty, aggressive song which you will love. 2. Sober [10/10] Fantastic. 3. I Don't Believe You [7.1/10] A good song. Will be great acoustically on tour. 4. One Foot Wrong [7.8/10] 5. Please Don't Leave Me [6.1/10] 6. Bad Influence [5.4/10] A little bit of a filler. 7. Funhouse [10/10] Just after the mood is going down from the slightly dire Bad Influence this fun, ramaging track comes along. 8. Crystal Ball [7/10] 9. Mean [9.3/10] Great song. 10. It's All Your Fault [9.1/10] 11. Ave Mary A [8.3/10] 12. Glitter In The Air [6.5/10] Meh.. hmm.. 13. [UK bonus track] This is How it Goes Down (ft. Travis McCoy) [8.9/10] 14. [UK and Japan bonus track] Boring [5.6/10] Bit of a disapointing way to close the record. After a fair few great songs I was expecting a little more to close the album even if it's only a bonus track. Does what it says on the tin - ..boring. Altogether; 8.5/10 ***1/2 / ***** 3 and a half stars. |

It's a review of your favourite artist that contains less than ten words of text from you. Oh and if you're going to insult me at least try to be original rather than rehashing my post.

Coolio - It Takes a Thief 1. Fantastic Voyage - One of my favourite Coolio songs. Great beat, decent lyrics, and a pretty good video too. Excellent opening to Coolio's first album. 10/10 2. County Line - It has good lyrics but that is about it, the beat becomes tiresome and the song is overall just too slow. 4/10 3. Mama I'm In Love With a Gangsta - Great song. The chorus is really catchy and so are the verses. A good step-up from 'County Line'. 9.8/10 4. Hand on my Nutsac - It isn't as bad as the title makes it sound. The lyrics aren't the best but the vocals are great. 6/10 5. Ghetto Cartoon - Verses are great but I don't understand a word of the chorus, good idea with the song though. 6.5/10 6. Smokin' Stix - Again, it lacks a catchy chorus but the verses are good. Okay song. 6/10 7. Can-O-Corn - N/A 8. U Know Hoo! - Better than the previous three on the album. It has a good chrous and decent verses, worth a listen. 7.2/10 9. It Takes a Thief - Great song! I always look forward to listening to the track that has the same name as the album, and most of the time they dissapoint- but this one didn't. One of the best on the album so far. 9.7/10 10. Bring Back Somethin' For Da Hood - Lyrically this is one of the best songs on the album, again it lacks a good chrous though. 9/10 11. N da Closet - Best song on the album so far!! This would have been a hit if he had released it. Everything about it is fantastic! 10/10 12. On My Way to Harlem - Another good song. It has a good beat, good lyrics and good an okay chorus. 9.5/10 13. Sticky Fingers - Same as above. 10/10 14. Thought You Knew - 9/10 15. Ugly Bitches - 10/10 16. I Remember - 10/10 I didn't comment on the last few songs as I found myself repeating myself quite a bit. Best song on Album: I Remember Overall Rating: 9.5/10 |

Kylie Minouge - Impossible Princess Year of Release - 1998 1. Too Far [7.8/10] A good pop record with a catchy beat. 2. Cowboy Style [6.8/10] 3. Some Kind of Bliss [8.9/10] 4. Did It Again [6.7/10] 5. Breathe [10/10] 6. Say Hey [7.8/10] 7. Drunk [6.7/10] 8. I Don't Need Anyone [6.8/10] 9. Jump [7.8/10] 10. Limbo [10/10] 11. Through the Years [8.9/10] 12. Dreams [7.8/10] Altogether; Not Kylie's best work but still a good pop/dance orientated record with catchy beats. 6.7/10 ***/***** 3 out of five. note;; a while after the record was released the artwork was changed to 'Kylie Minouge' because of Princess Diana's tragic death but oftenly changed back. |

Beyonce - I Am.. Sasha Fierce Year of Release - 2008 I Am.. 1.If I Were A Boy [9.8/10] A brilliant angry ballad where Beyonce's voice really shines. 2. Halo [6/10] Would have been better with Leona. 3. Disappear [7.8/10] 4. Broken-Hearted Girl [7.9/10] 5. Ave Maria [8.1/10] 6. Satellites [7/10] Sasha Fierce 1. Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It) [4.7/10] I think it sounds a bit of a mess. 2. Radio [7.8/10] Much better than the above. 3. Diva [8.9/10] 4. Sweet Dreams [6.9/10] 5. Video Phone [6.8/10] Altogether;; A good album with a few good songs. Nothing spectacular and Single Ladies just is a pure mess but a few lovley ballads and groovy dance tracks. ***/***** 5 out of five stars. 6/10 6 out of ten. |

I agree with your review David. Lady Gaga is definitely one of the best new artists around. But The Fame is one of the best songs on the album!

LADYHAWKE - LADYHAWKE (2008)
Genre?: Ladyhawke is an Indie pop singer who uses an 80's synth in her songs often. Thoughts?: I love this album, I regurlary listen to it on college mornings because it's so easy to listen to and the songs are catchy. I love the use of the synth as it gives her a sound that's quite distinctive,If i had to compare her to anyone though I'd say imagine Goldfrapp with a bit more grit and less dance orientated songs. The album contains 13 songs, 9 of which are very good and the other 4 are decent but I think they are a bit boring compared to the other 9. I'd recommend her to anyone who likes indie or pop. The Best songs: Magic, Manipulating Woman, My Delirium, Love don't live here, Paris is burning, Dusk Til Dawn, Oh My, Crazy World, Morning Dreams. Check her out on Myspace or Youtube. She is fantastic, musically i'm not an easy person to please I ussually only like 3 or 4 songs on most albums but this album is fun, very listenable (is that even a word?) and one of my favourites from 08. 9/10 |

Anybody obsessed with simply having a lot of reviews put out fast : the above is what a review is meant to read like. It is the opinion of a human, not a robot.
Also, are you sure some of you are not just being a *teeny* bit biased when it comes to Coolio? Gangsters Paradise greatest rap album ever, FTW? |

SANTOGOLD - SANTOGOLD (2008)
Genre?: Varied. There's some R'n'B Hip-hop-y esque songs in there but most of it is kinda experimental, there's elements of Dance, indie pop and even a slow rocky number? She's a dificult lass to class... Thoughts?: One of my favourite artists from 08, her album isn't as easy to like as say Ladyhawke's on the first listen. When I first listened to it I only really liked two songs (L.E.S Artistes, You'll find a way). But then I found myself listening to it again and finding songs and layers to them which I hadn't discovered the first time around. All but 1 song is now on my Ipod and I think that'll change the next time I pop the disc into my stereo. There are 12 songs on this album, 1 of which is a remix which i'm not keen on since I think they are lazy aditions to albums. They range from good to amazing, I just wish there was a ppoper song instead of a remix. It does nothing but undermine her talent. I personally can't wait to see more from Santi White. Best Songs (since I listed 9 last time i've decided to list only the cream of the crop): L.E.S Artistes (Best song), Creator, Shove it, Lights Out, You'll find a way. She's a versatile lady who might not be amazing on first listen but becomes a delight on repeat listenings. Challenging and amazing, I love Santogold. 9/10 I'm going to redo my Britney Spears and Killer reviews next since my opinions have changed and those reviews were poor. Oh and thanks Stu . |

BRITNEY SPEARS - CIRCUS (2008)
Genre?: pop Thoughts?: It's not great, similar to a lot of pop albums of 08 It contains mostly filler songs. When I first listened to it I loved the first half of the album but the second half of the album is full of boring rushed filler songs. The song which I just don't get is If you seek amy, I find the song boring, senseless and a shameless attempt at trying to appear 'mature' without going the full hog. They should have done an out and out mature song or kept with a song about a girl called Amy because mixing these two just creates a pointless mashed up song. The good songs on the album are quite good but the second half really lets it down. An album for Britters fans only. Best Songs?: Circus, Shattered Glass, Out from under, Quicksand (Favourite song, I listened to it a lot on youtube. It's a travesty it wasn't picked up as a song on the album) 5/10 |

Nice reviews Dezzy, I've been meaning to check out Ladyhawke and Santogold so I'll checkout the songs you've recommended. My opinion of Circus has gone down too, I only listen to the same few tracks now [Circus, Shattered Glass, If U Seek Amy, Kill The Lights, Ammnesia and Womanizer (Bambi Remix)] haha. |
