Default Dannii Minogue to sign new X Factor contract

Quote:
Simon Cowell has decided to offer a new X Factor contract to Dannii Minogue, a report claims.

According to the Sunday Mirror, the show's chief considered replacing Minogue with Victoria Beckham, Emma Bunton, Lily Allen or Charlotte Church, but ultimately chose to save the Aussie popstar because she kept the programme in the headlines last year.

A source told the newspaper: "He had been toying with the idea of new blood for a while, but when he looked back it became increasingly obvious that Dannii was the talking point of the last series. Simon is a very canny businessman and this is a purely business decision.

"Although sacking Dannii and getting a new judge could win viewers for the first few shows, keeping Dannii pretty much guarantees fireworks throughout the entire series."

Reports that the star was involved in a feud with fellow judge Cheryl Cole set tongues wagging last year. Minogue also cried live on air following a dispute with Louis Walsh.

The singer is currently working on Australia's Got Talent in her home country. Filming for the new X Factor series will begin in the summer.

I hope that's true. I'd rather they got rid of Louis.

I hope she will be back, hopefully she will get a better edit this year after last years bad edit because of all the focus on Cheryl.

Apparently everyone DOESN'T like Cheryl!! Fact is we are being fed this hype/rubbish about her being the 'Nation's Sweetheart'. Tell that to the toilet attendant who Cheryl attacked because she dared to tell her to stop nicking pocketloads of sweets.
I prefer Dannii. She's played second fiddle to Kylie all her adult life, so no way would she be bothered about Ms Cole being in the limelight.

Hope Dannii stays. As for Cheryl - well, if they replaced Danni she'd be in her shoes this year, pushed aside for the new judge.

I'm hoping Louis's pathetic wage demands get him axed - for good this time. I never understood why they had him back and he ruined the last series, firstly by failing to vote out Daniel and his dead wife, and secondly for killing off all of JLS's potential and morphing them into another Louis Walsh boyband.

Louis out, new male judge in - I'd suggest Will Young. Credible enough, but also available enough, and it takes the whole thing full circle. I'd also suggest Simon doesn't mentor any acts and instead they are split between the other three judges, with Simon there as the independent senior judge and being the only one who votes in the Sing to Simon for Survival Showdown!

Based purely on the performance which is what they are supposed to do, Daniel was better.

Also I wouldn't have Will Young as a new judge. 1 singer was fine at a push, now there are 2 but 3 singers would be a complete joke imo.

Simon shouldn't just have the final say- its more tense when each have to cast their verdict. But I agree that Simon shouldn't mentor- they should do males, females and groups split between the other 3, and Simon should have the casting vote in the event of a tie to stop all of this deadlock rubbish.
