Tbf, the 1930s depression wasn't as bad in the UK as it is made out to be now days. Its just countries like Germany that were crippled, people were literally lining their house with bank notes because it was cheaper than insulation and they'd use it for toilet role ect. They printed wayyyyy to much money.

Uh, the US was one of the worst hit by the Great Depression.
