For this task, I have chosen your team leader. Your team leader for this task is:

Big Brother 10 is coming - so now seems like the perfect time to promote TiBB.

Therefore, for this task, the two teams will become 'ad agencies', creating advertisements for ThisisBigBrother.com.

Firstly, you must create an advert designed to attract new users to the site and promote its main features. Your advert may be in either of the following formats:
» A 15 second long 'TV' advertisement
» A 728x90px 'online' banner advertisement
» A 300x250px 'online' advertisement
» A 'full-page' 'press' ad (435x610px)

Note: The format you choose will not affect the outcome of the task.

Secondly, you must write a promotional blurb. Similarly to the advert, it should be designed to attract users and promote main features. This must be no more than 150 words long.

Finally, you must write a short paragraph as a 'pitch' to James, selling him your ideas and telling him why he should choose your adverts.

Once you have finished the task, please send me the finished advert, blurb and pitch, by U2U or MSN. The deadline for this task is Monday at 5.00pm GMT.

If the team leader will NOT be available for Monday night's firing, they must also inform me the two members of their team that they would wish to nominate for the firing after the deadline.

Rules:
1. 'Online' adverts may be still or animated (Flash or GIF with an 8 second time limit).
2. 'TV' advertisements must not contain any commercial music, including the Big Brother theme music.
3. You may not use Big Brother publicity images, logos, logo templates or the Channel 4 font, regardless of your chosen ad format.
4. The promotional blurb must be no more than 150 words long.
5. The deadline for this task is Monday at 5.00pm GMT.

If you fail to fully complete the task, or hand in all three of the required pieces (advert, blurb and pitch) by the deadline, then you will automatically face the subsequent elimination. Details about the next show will be posted in due course.

Advertising Big Brother without using any of the existing templates (eye, font, whatever) is a bit difficult

I think we should opt for something that stands out - I think the other team will go for something simple like the banner. Perhaps if we make a video it'll impress more people, and win us the challenge. But my video-making skills aren't fantastic. I'll give ideas to the best of my ability though.

Without commercial music this is going to be tricky, however. I'll record myself screaming "THIS IS BIG BROTHER" over and over again ROFL.

Perhaps someone could record themselves looking at a computer screen, bored, when I, dressed as a genie, appear. I then say "go to thisisbigbrother.com" and they just appear really cheesy and happy pmsl.

It'd make people laugh, but I don't know if it'd win LOL

Actually - if we all record ourselves saying something quick like "Thisisbigbrother dot com is fabulous", merge them together and put a logo in, it'd both fit in with the Fetch/Mean Girls theme (there were adverts for Mean Girls where Regina/Gretchen/Karen gave 'testimonials' to the cameras about high school life, but it'd be similar to the confused.com adverts where they're talking about the new improved site.

I can do the video. Im good with stuff like that i like to think. And yeah, if you all record yourself shouting thisisbigbrother.com, i could add that into the video along with sme music and some persuasive words, and retorichal questions etc.
