Yeah, if they have a small amount of karma after their name it means they're more likely to win.

Because in theory that's the pay out you would get if they win, so the bigger the pay out the less chance of winning.

You don't get karma as such , the betting is just as a guideline to how well people are doing in tasks, just for a bit of fun
