Simon Cowell has played down speculation that he is planning to leave American Idol.

Speaking to The Mirror, the music mogul had revealed that he was beginning to struggle with the workload involved in judging three successful talent shows - The X Factor, Britain's Got Talent and American Idol.

"I can't imagine not doing Britain's Got Talent and I can't imagine not doing X Factor. But I guess America is more likely to go because I have got one year under contract. Maybe that will be the end," he said.

However, Cowell later told The AP that he has no plans to leave Idol in the immediate future, adding that he is still considering other options for cutting his hefty workload.

I have no sympathy for him, he needs to work that hard to get all that money he is earning. If I was getting the money he was getting I would not mind working that much. Wouldn't be suprised if American Idol finishes though... it's been on for a long time. And to be honest... Simon goes... the show goes.

I think he should cut American idol, but show the X factor in the US to replace it
