Default Straightening tips?

No, not tips on how to turn straight, silly moo!

I've been straightening my hair the same way for 2 years now, and I'm sick of it, it takes TOO LONG. lol. Normally what I do is just attack my hair with the straighteners until it looks okay :L Does anyone have any tips or guidelines, cuz I'm at tether's end here?

Afterwards, with a thin comb, brush through it all. Then kind of push it up a little bit so it does not look flat.

I fail at it, I constantly burn by scalp haha. I find it annoying how easily women can do it while I end up with halfstraight hair and scald marks on me head. =\

So basically, I can't help you, meaning there was no point in me replying to this thread LOL

LOL.
Don't worry, anything will help me now.
I used to burn myself too, but now I just straighten outwards to avoid my ears, which I suppose doesn't make my hair look too good :L

I dunno how I do it lol. Perhaps use products after? Wax/Spray so it adds volume?

My hair is naturally poker straight. If i use straighteners it just kinks it really weirdly.

Umm... I gave up making mine poker straight... I just run the straighteners through my fringe and then through the top layer...

How long do you leave them switched on for before you use them? I leave mine on for like 10 mins +.. and then it does it straight away!

10mins? Haha GHDs take like 30 secs, and they beep when they're hot enough.

Haha - I don't have GHD's, but they are really good.. they take about 30 seconds for the light to change but I don't believe it!

In the morning I get up, then put my straighteners on.. then I go in the bathroom, come back, get dressed etc, then do my hair haha!

It depends what type of hair you have. If it's naturally thin-ish, then don't listen to me. If it's quite thick, frizzy, and sometimes uncontrollable, look into getting this:

When I first dry my hair, it's like an afro, but when I put this on before I straighten it - it goes glossy and shiny, but it doesn't feel like there's any product in your hair at all.

Defo backcomb at back for volume and then straighten so its still all messy yet straight looking and then just keep trying with it.
