Calm down. He wasn't saying being Irish was a bad thing, or that it wasn't alright she was in the house. He was simply making a list, on behalf of the OP, of those who weren't British. Scottish and Welsh are British, whereas Irish aren't.

Great white north is actually an expression used in many countries. I didnt actually mean the north of England.

Country bumpkin is also a term for somebody thats ignorant and unexperienced with dealing with people "different" to them.
