Over the years I have raised concerns over the way contestants are treated and the lack of duty of care on the part of Endemol

This time they excel themselves in playing fast and loose with safety

That’s exactly what happened to the poor housemates this morning. The SAS team sent shock-waves through the House as they enforced an exercise routine on the gang and ordered Charlie and Saffia into the Garden for a Task – involving walking on broken glass.

"Remove your footwear," barked the big bad balaclava bloke. "Step forward one pace. In front of you lies 150 smashed wine bottles. This is real glass. Look forward, don't look down. This is real glass. It will cut you if you do not pay attention. Do you understand?"

"Yes," said Saffia nervously.

And the instructions followed. "Put your foot down on the glass. If it feels sharp, move your foot. It is not a race."

And to the utter amazement of all watching, they both completed the broken glass walk.

There was just one thing missing – some approval. "This is Big Brother. Congratulations Charlie and Saffia. You have successfully completed your challenge and are now housemates."

So, Charlie and Saffia are the latest additions to the housemate team, joining Lisa and Kris who won their citizenship last night. That was a hell of a Task too. Lisa had to – gasp – answer the Phone to earn housemate status and then she had to choose someone to join her and she chose Kris.

What a nail-biter…

They don't have to do it forgoddsake, stop being such a moaning fart. They CHOOSE to go in.

i read on the big brother website that it is just sugar glass

they weren't pushed on the glass. the tasks in i'm a celeb are as of if nor more dangerous

I see no reason to insult OP...he asked a question, can we not be adult and answer respectfully?? I didnt see the glass episode, but I am sure BB would NOT put a HM at risk Sticks!!

Not quite sure what you mean but thank you!!! It's nice to know not every person is malicious!!! I believe in Karma! We get back 3 fold what we give! ( In theory....still waiting!

After I posted, I watched BBLB who revealed it was only sugar glass. I just rechecked the story I linked and there was no mention there, so where on the BB website was this mentioned.
