I understand why people are annoyed, but i think thats what happens when someone is a favourite throughout the series. I guess they just die down, nowadays in any reality show the underdog always wins.
eg. Mikey was supposed to win, Rachel did, Verne was supposed to win, Ulrika did, Rhydian was supposed to win, Leon did ect...
Also out of 100m votes, Kris got the most, so im sure that he had a LOT of fans. And its far enough that Danny voters passed it onto him.
Eg. Alexandra in the first few weeks of the X Factor was towards the bottom half and nearly was in the bottom 2 a couple of times, then when Laura and Diana went, her % to win shot up because all of the Laura, Diana fans were backing her.

At least there was excitement in Adam's performances, and he changed it up week by week.

At 11:30 this morning.
Adam Lambert's 'No Boundaries' was at number 5 whilst Kris' was at number 9.

I watched at a viewing party at the Grammy Museum and the party is still going on at the Nokia Theater. It had been confirmed that Kris, Adam, Gokey and Allison ALL have recording deals in the works that simply need to be signed.

And Kiss seriously LOVED Adam and want him when he's free to perform with them. Adam is in great high spirits and has been making funny Simon jokes with Terri Seymour. One joke was that Simon should get Kiss boots with 6 inch heels so he'll be taller. Allison is like this affectionate little munchkin. And Cyndi Lauper spent some time mentoring her, teaching her breathing exercises, having her breathe into a balloon. Everyone is very, very happy.

Just heard him sing as I haven't heard him sing yet, and I don't like it. He sounds like he is screaming and straining his voice. Kris sounds more natural.

I really thought Adam was going to win, but its really sad to see his fans be such bad losers. They are saying its because he is gay, and what not!
Well, it makes sense that he lost, because a lot of people found his voice annoying. Nobody could say the same about Kris. So if you count the haters, and the Kris fans, it makes sense that they would beat out Adam's fans.
Its better for him anyways. He will have more artistic freedom!

I'm shocked, I like Kris but I'm surprised he won. I think he's got that Heartless to thank for his win. It's like with Alexandra, she became the favourite when she did Listen. Adam's gonna have the better career, AI is better musically then XF but the albums never tend to be that good. Like last year Devid Cook could have totally done without winning as his AI album kinda sucked.

Compared to his earlier stuff anyway.

Best of luck to Kris, I hope they take him in a Jason Mraz esque route.

So annoyed - had managed to avoid spoilers all day yesterday, only for Teletext to put it in their headlines today (yesterday they just put "SPOILER: Idol winner revealed!)

Not surprised Kris Allen won though - and not disappointed at all. He's always given original interpretations of his songs, and is just so natural on stage too.

Adam just over-performed IMO and came across rather desperate at times.

Kris is just plain and is not in the same league as Adam. But i'm not surprised Kris won because he would have picked up the majority of Danny's votes.
Great finale with some spectacular performances but there was not enough emphasis on the finalists.
Not a fan of the winners song, but surprisingly I did feel Kris' version was way better

I though Allison's performance with Cindy Lauper was awesome, I thought all of the performances were good though.. except the ones with Alexis, the first two contestants who went and Megan lol all out of tune

The voting percentages haven't been released
but surprisingly it looks like Kris walked it. Out of 100million votes, 38million came from Kris' home state of Arkansas with 95% of those votes for Kris
So he only needed around 13million votes from the other 62million votes cast to have won
So yeah looks like he won by quite a margin
