Thats why I don't think its valid to moan about "lying C4" when its the moaners who don't even know what they're moaning about!!

No. People on other websites are complaining that Channel 4 lied about the afternoon ratings.
Channel 4 have claimed that live feed had low demand on E4 in the afternoon.
Actually, what these figures show is that it rated better than the normal programming in that slot.

Night time live feed used to get about 0.3-5m viewers on E4, Channel 4 about half of that (oddly enough). Afternoon one got about 0.1m-0.2m and there are figures to support that if you know where to look (but I don't). Figures in the article are an average of all day (ie all streaming daily on C4 and E4), definitely bumped up by night time.
What the article is trying to say (and subsequently people are moaning about) is that the red button was axed due to low figures and Channel 4 told us that. They've then got the wrong end of the stick thinking these figures are those of the red button.
"Channel 4 previously claimed that the live feed figures was in the ‘mere thousands’."
That was the reason for axing red button streaming, I don't think we ever actually heard about the afternoon.
