Hi,

Anyone know the name of the song that Dean performed one night in the house he did it in front of Brian, Helen, Paul, Josh and Elizabeth. Its not 'Deluxe' its the other one about killing someone

Hello, Chris. Welcome to TiBB.

I know the song you mean. It's one of my favourites too. I think the title is "I'd like to kill you". It goes on: "but it's against the law". There's a verse that includes "skin you like a mink" which I always found very funny. I remember the end is "what do you think?". "How about a drink?".

The housemates used to sing along to it and were always asking Dean to play it again. As far as I know, he has never released it in any format, more's the pity.

I think the song Chris1 is referring to is more likely to be "Another way to kill me" which Dean played on the night of the Dinner Dates. It depends whether you meant the slow song or the slightly more uptempo one they all used to dance to. He definitely played "Another way to kill me" because I can remember (says she, pretending she doesnt still watch BB2 tapes! ) everyone sitting around with wistful looks on their faces!

If you meant "I'd like to kill you" (aka The Friday Song), it was on the b-side of Bubble and Dean's world cup song "Standing Tall". Unfortunately it only got to number 99 in the charts, even though it was by far the best of the world cup songs around at the time. It was well worth buying if only for the lovely memories provided by the b-side! Not sure if it's still available, but Dean's band Phony have a website - I'm sure you'll still be able to download it from there. (haven't got the addy at the mo as I've had computer problems the last couple of weeks, but if you can't find it let me know and I'll try and get it for you! )

Hi again, Chris.

Sorry I got the song wrong. If you can't find the single in the shops, it's still available via Amazon for £3.99 + £1.46 P&P.

I can't believe you actually like Dean's music it is so middle of the road.

Unless its for nostalgia, if so fair play!

Different strokes for different folks Bonzo! It'd be damn boring if we all liked the same thing.

Ah. I don't think "Another Way To Kill Me" has been recorded anywhere. There used to be a few tracks you could download from the phony website but i dont think that was one of them unfortunately.

Personally Bonzobravo I wasnt that keen on Dean's music to start with, but as the weeks went by I became a bit of a fan. So it's not TOTALLY nostalgia that makes me like his music .... am I a bad person??

Chris,

If you're still looking for Dean's 'Another Way To Kill Me', I've uploaded a recording of it here:

http://www.j.alphaphe.com/anotherway.wma

I like Dean's songs, especially ‘Deluxe’, ‘Sacrifice’ and ‘Shrinkwrap’.

If you've got the BB2 DVD, you can get Helen's unique reworking of "I'd like to kill you"

I'd like to sh*g you
Even though I can't
Even though I'm locked in Bow
And you know I can't
Get a h*rd on.

Naughty girl, Helen but you were a bit tipsy!!!

It had Paul in stitches!

Hi, Princess.

Click THIS LINK then scroll down to the link for 'DELUXE'.

You can then either click on the 'download' link and the song will open up in Windows Media Player or something similar so you can listen to it, or alternatively right click on the 'download' link and choose 'Save Target As' to save the file onto your PC so you can listen to it whenever you want!

Good luck!
