He's "skilled in his various fields" - isn't everyone?
No "common intelligence" - as far as I know there's generally accepted to be about 7 types of intelligence, Verbal, Logical, Visual, Kinesthetic, Musical, Interpersonal, Intrapersonal and Naturalist. With so many possible combinations of intelligences to be had, can any of us boast a "common" intelligence.
Or perhaps you mean he has no experience of being common?
And to suggest that intelligence or common experience can be linked in any way to the ability to experience intimidation is, to be quite frank, stupid.
