Nobody is asking for it to be what it was. But, to say fans must adapt to the change is asking a whole lot in my view.

Not everyone likes the changes. You can't please all of the people all of the time.

But what you fail to see is an excellent line up, with diverse characters, interesting dynamics and great storylines.

If youve given up the show then go else were and let rue fans enjoy what possible little time we have left
I asked you this earlier ... what format changes?! Thats the reason why this year is so rubbish, its just same old same old. And I did like the new eviction layout for Sophia, but it just doesn't work for any old housemate. Its just Davina, 2 z listers and the housemate arguing for camera time.

What you fail to see is same old same old. Yes, it does have diverse characters, good dynamics and storylines (not great though) but we've seen all this before and thats the problem! On paper it should be a good series but something just isn't clicking into place for people to enjoy.
Its not Clicking for you because youve seen it all before, your bored of it and expecting to much from it
Actually I go into every series with no expectations and look at whats given this year, not compare it to past years. But this year I can't help but do that, it has past years written allover it even down to the house design!
There are only so many things you can do to a space....Kitchen, bedroom, bathroom

There are only so many arguements that can be had

There are only so many storylines that can be played out

You my friend have just outgrown the show, and that fine people will, but there are at least 2 million who still love it.

In that case Lili accept that you dont agree with the changes and either put up with them or shut up about them. We have established who is not happy, move on

See, there you go again elliebrew. You don't wish to hear any negative opinion on the show.

That would be the same as me saying you all should shut up about how great the show is because I don't think it is.

It could have been what it was last year though. Even then it was still an event and this year launched with higher ratings than last years final so it could have been another event year even if it was least watched ever. But lack of effort on launch night prevented that

How much more effort can they put in?!?!

New house, a big twist, entertaining characters? It was a more eventful launch than BB7 or BB3, what happened there?

I honestly do not understand what you all expect? It seems impossible to reach your high standards it seems

In fairness, I'm don't 'harp on' about not enjoying it either though. I'm sure some people do, but I don't think I'm guilty of it personally.

Until BB9 they managed to be different every year. I'm talking about design btw, not layout. Compare the BB7 and 10 kitchens to see what I mean.

Even until the start of the series we had new arguments and storylines (Sophia, Saffia ... they're badly missed as much as I struggle to admit it) but now its just ................

I don't think I have outgrown it, I felt exactly the same way during BB8 but if they put in the right effort every series can be different. BB9 is one of my favourites so I've not given up just yet.

BBUK is dead. There's no way there will ever be another regular series on C4, as the show can no longer command anywhere near an average of 3m viewers. 3.6m watched BB9, 2.4m (and falling fast) for BB10. The papers are no longer interested. The buzz has gone. BB is no longer an event like it used to be. The house if full of strangers we will never get to know properly. There is no going back now. The show can't recover from this shambles, it's that simple.

A - Big Brother is not dead, by proxy of the fact that people still watch and love it.

B - The papers are no longer interested, but who cares, I am. Thats all I care about.

C - I have gotten used to it not being an event. That does not reflect on the quality of the show, which I think is the best since Big Brother 7.

D - If most viewers never watched the live feed anyway, most viewers never knew the housemates right down to their mothers maiden names...

E - ...and to be honest, most never cared anyway. Theirs still a casual audience who just want to watch it for an hour a night to relax. Nothing wrong with that.

A - The show no longer attracts a big enough audience to justify the huge cost of making the programme. They ain't gonna make it at a loss, that's for sure.

B - The tabloids sell more copies of their papers than BB has viewers now. Without the vital coverage in the red tops, people forget BB exists and the ratings slide further...

C - Fair enough. No one is denying that a relatively large number of fans will enjoy the show, even as it is now.

D - Anyone who read forums, or read papers, or talked to people who watched the LF or read forums or read papers would know a lot more about the HMs than people who watched nothing but the h/l shows.

E - The die hards are the people who kept the heart of BB beating from the early days. The casual viewers are gradually switching off now, hence little more than 2m people watching an eviction show, which would have been unthinkable even during BB9.

Big Brother is one of the cheapest shows Channel 4 makes. Even if another network or Channel 4 themselves extended the contract at a lower priced deal, the show would STILL make profit.

I dont have an inherent need to dig into the housemates personas. It is just a television show to me. And I will judge them as TV characters based on what I am seeing on the highlights show. Sure, theirs going to be some editing but that is unescapable, given the nature of the show.

I am not disputing the whole popularity thing. My point was I, me, I care about the show and I enjoy the show. I dont care what tabloids think. Same with those who still watch the show. So you cant say De Facto that Big Brother is dead. It is insulting to those who still enjoy the show.

I agree with many in this thread (Tom, Stention, etc) the show has kind of lost the spark it once had partly through lack of creativity on the production side, and loss after loss (Diary Room uncut, 24hr coverage, heck Big brother site doesn't even update its site after 6pm, tasks)

People have a right to express there point of view, nothing would ever change if no "constructive criticism" was offered and I think that is what's wrong with C4, the bigwigs are surrounded by people who lick there a$$ and say "That's such an awesome decision!" that they have become encased in this bubble of ignorance.

Digital Spy is/was the leading forum for live feed discussion, cut that away and of course you are going to get an outcry. Alot of people I've seen over there have tried there best to carry on as best without it, but there is still the LF campaign thread ticking away trying to find ways to puncture C4's bubble.

Last nights ratings grab was a clear tell tell sign that they are getting desperate for more people to tune in.

This is the only forum I post in. I've glanced at the DS forum a few times, but never felt compelled to join, too many haters and moaners. Especially this year which, ironically, is the most I've enjoyed BB for quite a few years. I mean I don't mind the odd post of complaint about a HM or the show, but in DS every other post is some sort of hate post.

I will only boycott anything that directly makes C4 money (votes etc) in protest over LF, the death of BB on youtube, and the state of the BB website (what a POS it is now).

Hurting fansites and the show itself (by further bringing down it's ratings so that another channel won't ever pick it up) helps noone and really only guarantees BBs long term death.

I mean, I know it's a long shot that Sky or someone will pick it up after contract end, and fair enough switch off if you arnt enjoying it, but why damage that slim chance by not watching it or supporting it on the net out of principle?

I think Stu is right in what is said.

Regardless of all the stuff surrounding it, it's still a good show.

To be honest I still doubt the way they get the stats for viewing figures.

I can understand how people feel disappointed about the live feed and other stuff and I miss it to but I'm still tuning in and watching.

If you feel strongly about it then do something like fill the online form on Ofcom.
