they all assume because he is a bit of a toff that the public will hate him and so they have constantly belittled,mocked him and taken the piss out of him. IF he stays it might finally dawn on them that he is popular with the viewers and that will make them think ,"oh **** , i havent been nice to him so what are the viewers gonna think of me?" Get them a bit paranoid too.

If he stays, they definately will start to question Freddie/Halfwit's popularity outside. If any of them had an ounce of tactical thinking they'd vote Freddie and someone they thought was popular.. e.g. Kris or Sophie
