You need to tune in tonight, the birthday of Freddie was so entertaining on LF, i just hope they have more than half of the HL show showing what happened last night.

Noirin said in the diary room when she removed her glasses , that it was the worst punishment ever!
Hmmmm maybe prisoners in Germany and Japan in the 2nd world war might disagree with that!

Best opening week since BB7

Then a very dodgy week last week, worst week in years so quite a contrast

I liked BB9 from start to finish but when this year is good it is very good, but when you balance out the good and the bad this year I'll rate it about the same so far

You?

I really enjoyed BB9 just like BB5 and BB6 which are some of my favourite series ever. BB7 was good as well.

I think had Big Brother 9 came straight after 7 with no CBB5, BB8 or Hijack, I think they could have got 4-5m viewers per night and Big Brother could still be at the forefront of reality TV. BB9 helped steady the drop and gain back some respect after a very dodgy era of Big Brother, but sadly all that work last year amounted to nothing as they have managed to destroy Big Brother after a small celebrity series and the first 3 weeks of this one. Very good opening week for BB10, I'll give them that, but it turned crap last week.

The audience last year was extremely loyal to the show, they could have built on that audience this year especially as more watched BB10 launch than BB9 final, but they chose not to help this years series.

Anyhow, I did enjoy last night's episode and this new task sounds interesting so hopefully things pick up.

I did like the first week (not the twist) but then it went a bit slow last week. Maybe because there was too much Sree in it.

I mentioned the ratings because I think the poor twist is the reason why BB10 has done rubbish in the ratings and was badly received by the fans and they switched off. (Also live feed made people not like this series). But if you had given the highlights a chance in the 1st week you would have enjoyed it.

It's about the same as BB9 I think and had it followed BB7, I think a lot of people would be talking about it.

I quite liked the twist, some of the tasks were a bit rubbish though but I liked the majority of them

And I don't think following BB7 would have helped (probably would have got the figures BB8 did anyway), I think BB7 was the saturation point for BB, the rot set in during the CBB with Jade before the race row

I just think the public has had enough of BB after almost a full decade

The twist was good on paper, but didn't work well. Especially because of the crap tasks involved such as picking up a telephone to become a housemate.

I think it would have done well after BB7, but I agree that after 10 years the format is tired.

But ironically, last year was a success in a way. Despite the audience being at its lowest, voting was up on BB8 (although was still significantly lower than BB1-7) and the audience was very consistent. Except for launch and final weeks, it averaged 3.5m pretty much every week. The weeks it didn't it averaged 3.4 and 3.6m. It also only lost 0.4m between launch and the final, a much smaller drop than BB8. It was received much better critically than BB8 was, had a higher AI and generally had an all round more positive feeling and actually some buzz returned for last year.

Channel 4 have killed the show this year by getting rid of live feed and annoying the hardcore fans. IIf the contract had ended after BB9, I reckon even ITV would be fighting over it. A 3.6m average is very good for todays TV landscape and Channel 4. But after this year, nope. Channel 4 have killed it beyond repair.

I don't really think there was much buzz about BB9 (well off the forum anyway) but agree it was a good figure. But tbh I don't care how badly a show rates as long as I'm enjoying it. I could be the only person left watching it and if I was enjoying it I wouldnt really care. Don't think no streaming has killed the show either, something happened over launch weekend CBB still managed to get a million more watching than now at the same point in the series. Not sure ITV would want it either (or anyone else for that matter), well not in the near future anyway
