Default Fed up of remakes?

These seem to be the only films coming out the mo....
We got Child's Play Remake and Nightmare On Elm Street. They have just had Friday the 13th, which was dreadful....
soon it wont be too long that they will be remaking some cult classics, like Misery, Ghost World and more. Wont be suprised if they started remaking remakes?

There's a distinct lack of originality in the film industry, particularly in the horror genre.

I agree, remakes aren't always bad (The Thing is a prime Example) but nowadays they are just LAZY. I think the only recent remake that's actually been better then the original was Dawn of the Dead. The problem is that Hollywood aren't prepared to take the risks with new or foreign properties because they don't have faith in the audience.

Yeah, Hollywood has worked its way through anything vaguely bankable from the 70s and is currently on the 80s.

Even a few 90s films have started getting the remake treatment, I hear Total Recall (1990) and The Crow (1994) are in the pipeline (sadly).
