Mix It Up at Exp05

Consider yourself the next Chris Moyles or Jo Whiley? Then come display your talent with Rock FM at Exp05 this October. Whether you get a chance to mix tracks or present traffic and travel updates, the experience promises to be truly rocking with the opportunity to visit the famous Rock FM Thunder Truck as well.

Face the Music

Chloe Little from Walshaw High School praised the benefits of the festival after her attendance last year. “You could get a taste of different careers,” she said, finding the variety of information and application forms available very useful. The Rock FM stand in particular struck a chord in Chloe with a singing contest they put on. Judged by Adele from Big Brother, Chloe’s school won and was rewarded with the visit of the radio station to her school for a day.

Rock FM is just one part of the Creative and Media Zone, and that’s not where it ends. Exp05 is host to nine other zones covering a range of topics from Sport to Catering. Current Rock FM DJ and ex-Big Brother contestant Adele Roberts is “thrilled” to be a part of it all. She believes events like Exp05 are extremely important for young people wanting to learn about how to DJ, where to learn it and most significantly how to break into the industry. “It’s brilliant that the schools get behind this…kids get to learn so much more,” she says.
