Default La Roux \'beating Jackson in album chart\'

La Roux's self-titled debut album is currently outselling Michael Jackson's Number Ones in the midweek charts.

The electropop duo, made up of singer Elly Jackson and producer Ben Langmaid, are currently on course to top the album countdown, despite a surge in Jackson sales since his death last Thursday.

Meanwhile, La Roux's current chart-topping single 'Bulletproof' is expected to be forced into second place by Jackson's 1988 hit 'Man In The Mirror', which starts the week with a marginal lead.

According to the Official Charts Company, Jackson sold 200,000 singles and 100,000 albums in the two days after he died.

Music retailer HMV recently revealed that it had been forced to rush order more Jackson CDs after experiencing an 80-fold increase in demand for his music.

ooo thanks for the stats!! wow i have michael jacksons greatest number one singles on my ipod shuffle lol i have had him on for ages!

but wow i like la roux! i would like to get her albulm!! i love the electro type techno music!!

Yeah I have both, got Number Ones when it first came out. I also really like La Roux though and her album is great so I would be very pleased to see it get to #1.

I really do love La Roux but I'd like to see Jacko get to #1 this week, they can have it the next week. Both albums are great though!

I love La Roux's album, I've listened to it a bit more and it's brilliant. People who judge it on IFTK should give it a try. It isn't as shrill as you'd think.

Man In The Mirror will be number one single though, and rightly so.

I do love La Roux's album though,it's very different.

I used to hate La Roux, but I actually have started to love their album as much as it pains me to say so
