Also, I don't know if anyone noticed but when she and Kenny were at the bus stop she told him the other HMs were talking about putting themselves out and he told her "don't do it" - she must have realised then that with his outside knowledge she would probably be the one going.

Yes I noticed Kenneth telling her not to do it. It was clear what she had been trying to ask him, in a round about sort of way in that conversation on the bench.
