It's a fair point. The fact that whenever something happens in the house you can find three or four threads on the topic. Sometimes they're even right next to each other in the list, which means that the thread creator lacked the patience or basic literacy required to read a few things before posting.
There are two sources of the problem:
1. low familiarity with etiquette on the part of the posters (they need to learn, really, we can't have these people all over the Internet. They're everywhere, I read football forums too and that's even worse on game day).
2. moderators should delete, merge, ban, and punish at will. The mods on here are a bit soft (sorry).
Other users themselves might take action too. E.g. if you see a spam thread fill it with junk, or take the piss out of the poster or something. (I find too many people defend spammers on here, probably Karly fans.)
