Default What are your views on Europe?

My family have always been very pro Europe and they are immigrating to France when they retire, they want the Euro currency and all that, the south-west is very anti-europe so we're kinda in a minority lol. Personally, i dont think Europe is too bad, and it would cerainly sort alot of issues out - however i dont like it when Brussels think that they rule the whole bludy continent
Anyway, story: You know the Boscastle floods that appened in Cornwall, well i dont live far from there, and a couple of months ago thay put forward a request to get an EU grant to rebuild Boscastle after the devistation. Boscastle, along with most of Cornwall is very anit EU. Funny how when they want support they come crying to the EU isnt it

What are everybody elses views?

For some strange reason, I want to keep the pound. Maybe I'm just sentimental?

(Or just mental. Haha.)

I agree. As much as I'd like to be a part of Europe, I'm so used to the pound.

I'd rather have the pound.

I hate Most French, they wouldn't back us even if we had chocolate cake lurking about.

I also hate the Germans, they always sit on the wall and declare how anti war they are, even though they started off that big war a good few years back... or did they forget about that.

I like the Italians and Spanish, they are backing the UK and arn't sitting back and watching things happening around them, plus they are very friendly people and quite attractive.

The rest i don't really give too oinks about, they suck.

Irelands cool though.

*running-jump-tackles the Lithuanians*

Oeh, sorreh...

*detaches self from Lithuania and returns home*

Well, I'm still hoping Scotland will break away from England, blow it up *rescuing all those cool English people of TiBB* and then point and laugh from the mountains whilst they all drown from global warming causing increased water levels.

Also, the Dutch are too cool, they're all rich, so... *shoots*

Naaa, I don't want us to lose the pound, plus Italy don't seem to like the Euro anymore...

I am not wrong because I have a different view. I like the pound and we don't need to change just because the rest of it being easier than having to change money when going abroad. The pound's stronger than the euro anyway.

Yeah, if we give in because "everyone else said so" that's called peer pressure, so we could claim that they were bullying us!

*has plan*

Very True.

But are traditions and culture is now being ridiculed to the extent that we can't even hold our own flag up without people throwing up the ethnic equality card.

But we do have great history.

We created electricity, we created the internet, planes, the flush toilet and most importantly.. dildo's.. things that the modern world would simply be lost without.

I would not like to see Britain adopt the Euro. Like has already been said the pound is stronger anyway. I like the fact that we are individual in some way. I dont want to see Britain absorbed into Eurpoe and forgotten about. I dont want to be ruled by Germans, French et al which we already are to some extent! I want to be English not Eurpoean.

I dont understand how the Euro is easier to use though I am quite happy that I understand the pund and how to spend it!

The only bits of Europe I would like is cheaper booze, fags and Fuel!

The Euro hasn't worked very well as a common currency so far. I don't want us to be part of it, and very much doubt that the majority would ever agree to it if and when there's a referendum. And if it ever happened, how long before people start to suggest having a World Dollar instead? Scary thought.

Nobody 'created' electricity. As far as harnessing it for safe domestic use is concerned, that was done in America first. There were several breakthroughs that contributed to what we know as the internet today - some were British, most were American. Brazil takes the credit as far as planes are concerned, and China for the flushing toilet.

Im glad Britain has stuck using the pound. Joining the euro would of been a mistake for us. Pounds are much better, unless you travel alot then I could see some advantage of having one currency in many places.
