I agree that he's a delusional idiot but don't forget that she gained from their friendship too. She always gravitated towards him for advice whenever she had f£$ked up in the house or had alienated herself. Why would you do this knowing, like we all do, that Marcus is a little pervert who wants ur knickers? Cuz she loves the attention: she laps it up.
