Default Ross Kemp and the newspaper editor

Well, well, well!!

This a strange story isnt it??!!

Being serious though, I heard Max Clifford say that if she did hit him, he probably deserved it!! That is shocking. If it was the other way round and he hit her, eveyone would be screaming and in uproar.

This double standard is always spouted on TV shows like Trisha etc, and its out of order.

Violence is violence.

I was pointing out the hypocrosy in that it seems ok for a woman to hit a man.

THIS!

Quote:
The wife of actor Ross Kemp and the ex-partner of his EastEnders co-star Steve McFadden have been arrested over alleged assaults.

The Sun's editor Rebekah Wade was questioned for eight hours over an alleged attack on her EastEnders star husband Ross Kemp.

In a bizarre twist, it later emerged that McFadden's former partner had also been arrested and then released over an alleged assault on him.

McFadden and Kemp play brothers Phil and Grant Mitchell in the BBC1 soap.

It was not clear if the incidents were linked.

Scotland Yard refused to confirm the names involved.

But a spokesperson said: "At 9.35 officers attended an address in Haringey regarding an alleged assault.

"A woman was arrested outside of her home address for allegedly assaulting a man.

"She was taken to a north London police station before being released."
Bizarre!

I agree with you, cc100 .... there's no excuse whatsoever for assault, whether it be man against woman, or woman against man.

I agree with you as well cc100. What Max Clifford seems to be insinuating is that violence is acceptable in certain situations, because the person 'deserves' it.

I don't believe violence is ever acceptable, and it's certainly unfair that people make excuses for Rebekah Wade because she's a woman. If he had been the one to hit her, I'm sure nobody would be saying she derserved it.

Domestic violence is awful, and it goes both ways. Whether the perpertrator is male or female, and whether the victim is male or female, it is unacceptable.

Mind you, as soon as Max Clifford gets involved in anything, I smell a rat. He is a deplorable man.

Whenever someone says "domestic violence" people always assume that the man is the aggressor, and the woman is the victim.
If Ross Kemp had hit his wife, I doubt anyone would say she deserved it, they'd be baying for his blood.

IMO, these double standards are drilled in to people since they are born. People accept women as the weaker gender, who are so much more delicate than men. If a man hits a woman, there's an uproar, if a woman hits a man, it's shrugged off, because sweet, delicate women NEVER hit a man without due provocation, surely?

Max must have put some spin on it.

He is a deplorable, odious character.
