Default Can people from republic of Ireland Vote

I tried a couple of the numbers using the correct code and was told that the numbers were not in service. Anyone know if or how we can vore from Ireland

Its the way all 09(premium rate) phone numbers work, you cant dial into them from whats classed as another country, they dont receive international calls. The only way People from the Republic of Ireland can vote is by heading North and vote while in Northern Ireland.

Endemol could set up vote lines in Ireland if they really wanted the Irish vote to count.

They should have a way to vote online! Seriously why not?

They initially plan to run with a method to vote online, but they decided they would lose revenue if it was free, and it would be open to abuse in betting scams etc and if a system of pay to vote was introduced it would have been too slow, (card veruification times etc.)

Think it used to be the case that the ROI could vote, but I guess with all the phone vote scandals they decided to stop it.

Blame the TV company that broadcast it there then.

You will be wanting to be able to phone in to Rikki Lake next

More to do with the fact that uk based 09 numbers dont accept international calls and Endemol didnt reckon the admin costs and difficulties in setting up similar lines in IR then tying the two sets of results together worthwhile
