Default just had a look at the voting rules

i'm pretty shocked to be honest!!

http://www.channel4.com/bigbrother/v...ing-terms.html

1. The Big Brother Vote ("Vote") is organised by or on behalf of 4 Ventures Limited and/or Channel Four Television Corporation of 124 Horseferry Road, London SW1P 2YX ("Channel 4"). By participating in this Vote you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

2. You may only cast your vote by premium rate telephone call. There is no alternative voting method.

3. You may vote as many times as you like but the eligibility of any vote entry is at the sole discretion of Channel 4.

4. The opening and closing of Vote lines and the numbers to call are all as advertised on the Channel 4 programmes’ ‘Big Brother’, ‘Big Brother’s Little Brother’, ‘Big Brother’s Big Mouth’ and on the ‘Big Brother’ website. Votes cast outside of these times will not be counted and you will not be charged. Voting closes during the ‘Big Brother’ Eviction programme. Please watch the programme for exact closing time of the vote. The results of the Vote will be announced during the ‘Big Brother’ Eviction night show.

5. Channel 4 reserves the right to discount votes if it has reasonable grounds to suspect that fraudulent bulk votes have been cast (i.e. more votes than a human being could possibly submit in the time available without the use of software or other devices designed to make automated votes).

6. Channel 4 may suspend, withdraw, cancel or re-set the Vote for any reason at its sole discretion and at any time.

7. Under no circumstances will there be a refund for any vote cast or for any misdialled calls.

8. If you are not the bill payer, you must get permission from the bill payer before calling to vote.

9. At times you may not be able to get through to register your vote. Channel 4 is not liable to callers who are unable to register a vote.

10. All votes are monitored by Electoral Reform Services.

11. Channel 4's decision in relation to all matters affecting the Votes is final.

12. Arrangements have been put in place which are designed to ensure that no-one will be charged for votes cast outside of the Vote windows. Please contact your network provider or Channel 4 if you believe you have been charged for a call made outside of the Vote window.

13. Channel 4, its group companies and sub-contractors do not accept any responsibility whatsoever for any technical failure or malfunction or any other problem in any telephone network or line, system, server, provider or otherwise which may result in any vote being lost or not properly registered or recorded. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Channel 4 hereby excludes all warranties, representations, covenants and liability (whether express or implied) regarding the Vote.

14. Any personal data collected will be used solely in connection with current UK data protection legislation. Please see Channel 4's Privacy Policy for further details.

15. Channel 4 reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions without prior notice. Any changes will be posted on this website and such posting shall be adequate notice to all participants. Please check these Terms and Conditions each time you wish to vote.

16. These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by English Law.

Telephone Charges/Pricing Information

17.Each call will cost 35 pence from a BT landline. Calls from other operators may vary and calls from mobiles will cost considerably more. Please check with your network operator or service provider before calling for exact call charges.

I think KisyWisy that applies more to suspicious betting patterns and odd moves with regard to betting on results. If there seem to be block phone calls and large bets on the same housemate against popular opinion then theres a chance it will be wiped out.

it's rule number 3 that shocked me though.

fair enough about the suspect fraudulant voting, but it's saying we can vote as many times we want but it's not guaranteed they'll be counted!!

I think that is more likely to be if they notice suspicious voting patterns...like if there are 5000 calls come from your number or something...

Shite... I voted for the same two people about 20 times, that'd still be counted right?

Nice to have this confirmed, it's what I've long suspected and a reason why I do not vote.

I can see where your coming from but I doubt they would go to such lengths to fix it when they can easily do that with editing and that doesn't have any regulators like the phones do.

They essentially try and cover their ass with those things as much as possible, they wouldnt want to not have this stated, wipe out some suspected betting pattern voting and then be sued by said voters afterwards for not counting them.

your 20 votes will hardly be noticed in the sea of votes, betting scams would be several 1000 votes, they wouldnt want to take the chance of placing bets and then not making the calls.

How can they get away with that when there have been so many scandals on voting in the past?

The votes must surely be independently moderated, so I doubt they're fixing the votes. Those rules are probably there to cover their backs.

Well, Rachel winning last year was a bit of a surprise, but Ulrika winning the celeb one convinced me something was not right. I don't worry if my favourite does not win but when someone who appears to be nobody's favourite wins it seems suspicious, or maybe I am wrong and she really was popular.

I think they can get away with anything they like if they have their rules and policies displayed, however hidden it may be. It is like the small print.
