Default BB slip up on reaction cuts.

Whoever is doing the cutting for BB needs to go on a refresher course.

I counted at least 8 obvious cuts to house mates 'reacting' to what another HM had said, but they were totally out of sync.

Example, Bea moaning to Halfif at the bus stop, David and Lisa come out with a cup of tea each.

Halfwit says something, lisa and David pull a face. They have no tea left and put down their mugs. Bea says something and they cut to David and Lisa 'reacting' but now they have full cups of tea and are drinking again.

WTF.... this is going too far, we know that the highlights use stock reaction footage, can make a funny joke look like its gone down badly, or a bad jokelook hilarious but please keep up the continuity if you are going to try and trick people like this!

I agree with you. I've noticed this since the beginning of the series where they recycled a couple of cuts...

For a while I thought "there's something different about this series" and then I realized it was the editing. Also, take a look at how claustrophobic the editing is. Just endless headshots and reaction shots. Previous Big Brothers seemed more spacious, like more shots of a group of people interacting together.

Were the continuity errors really that bad on tonights episode? I can't believe how they try to manipulate us so much if what you say is true. I'll have to watch it again. Well done for spotting it.

Its standard reality TV practice to show people reacting in a completly different way than they actually do. Once you get your eye in at spotting it they are pretty obvious.

They really need to sack their editor and employ someone who knows what they are doing. Not some work experience 13 year old kid who they get to do it for free...

It was cut to shreds. They missed out Bea calling Siavash Marcus's little helper and they missed halfwit making a few good points about Bea's attitude and side swapping.

All edited to have some idiot win Big Brother and it should be against production rules as it wastes people's money spent on votes.

Very interesting! I remember a scene with Noirin and Siavash being slightly different to what I saw on LF, they just cut out a sentence that Noirin said (which really was a question to Siavash) and then it cut back to Siavash answering the question, it totally changed the way what was really said to be easily misunderstood.

I remember this.

I will take more note in future.

Well spotted on tonight though.

Two points :
1 They are obviously trying to save money by using the same shots

2 They are trying to manipulate not just the HM but the VIEWERS, into seeing what they want you to see - which is the reason why there is no live feed all day.

As long as you can see what BB are doing then you are OK, but I feel sorry for those who take this game so seriously.

Hang on a minute - when you watch other shows (e.g. Gordon Ramsay Kitchen Nightmares) they have to put a discalimer at the end saying that some edits may have been made where events did not happen in that sequence...perhaps this is just a US rule?...but it certainly sounds dodgy and there must be some 'rules' around TV presenting (e.g. remember the fuss around the TV edit showing the queen being not amused about her portrait being taken or something like that!)

The Queen incident is a classic example.

To clarify I am not talking about the way they cut the conversations etc together. Its the reaction shots that they change.

For example: Halfwit walks into the garden and Lisa is shown as scowling at him. She was actually scowling at a wasp some 5 mins earlier and had in reality smiled at Halfwit as he walked into the garden.

This would give a totally different impression of Lisa and Halfwits relationship.

If you want to know more and have 5 mins to spare then check this explanation out

I have noticed the bad editing this year too, especially when Hira was still in...

There was an argument (I think it was the Frosties). One minute, Hira was in the Garden doing Star Jumps. Next minute she had teleported to the bedroom and was not in her gym suit. Then she was back in the garden. Then disappeared altogether!

It happened with a discussion around the seating last week too. Hira was sat at the chairs, then she was asleep in the bedroom. When it cut back to the seating, she was still awake and talking to Rodrigo!

I would have posted when I saw it but was on my hols and had not internet connection.

But I do agree, sak this years editors!

Lisa David and Siavash were in the kitchen and there was a Large Jug of orange juice on the counter, Lisa and David left the Kitchen to go sit at the table just holding plates, when the footage went back to Siavash leaving the Kitchen a minute later there was no Jug. thats the first time I have noticed, will watch more carefully.

it just gets me mad!!!

these reaction shots change viewer's take on things like arguments or even general conversations. editing in someone pulling a face can change everything!!

i don't want to watch a soap, i want to watch reality tv
