Default Remembering the good times

I remember this time last year all we could talk about was BB.
We were frantically finding out who had which bit's of BB that we had missed and a few of us spent almost all the winter copying (for various memeber's) to video tape. We had great fun but this year things are so different. No one ( me included ) seems very interested in the last lot of housemates.
Will we ever see the likes of the BB2 contestants again? I doubt it very much.
I really hope that when Celebrity BB is on they will have something of interest to write about.
I havn't been on this ( or any other BB site) for ages.
I liked talking about Paul, Helen and the whole BB2 crowd.
PLEASE PLEASE make BB4 better.
I suppose the BB3 hosemates will do something on Children In Need the same as the BB2 housemates did and I dare say Jade will take over the spot. The way they are pushing her you would think she won.

It couldn't be more different this year could it jbellemeg. Last year we were still talking non-stop about what happened and were desperate for news, this year no-one really seems to care.

Hi Jill. Nice to have you back with us again.

I agree with you about BB3. I haven't even watched the tapes I did this year of the Channel 4 episodes.

May I recommend Fame Academy to you, though. They are a really nice group of people and I'm sure you'd enjoy it, especially if you have Sky and are able to watch it on interactive.

The only regret i have is missing all of the BB2 chat on this forum, as i had no computer then
I hope BB4 will be better than BB3 and bring housemates that we are able to warm to

Jbellemeg, absolutely spot on as usual.

I am feeling flat and uninspired, and it is impossible to equate it to the felings we all had and shared last year. It was all consuming, the need to keep on top of what was happening, everything.

I looked further in my heat mag today, (past the welcome shots of P&H,) and there are some of Jade and Spencer at the TV awards (how annoying, given that the powers that be arrogantly banned the BB2 hm last year) and a feature on Jade in her panto outfit. I was totally unmoved by them.

This time last year we would have been buzzing about every snippet.

Misty water colour memories, of the way we were........

(That's my karaoke number sorted then!)

Although I wasnt a member last year - all we ever seemed to chat about at work was BB2 and what was happening to the housemates. It went on and on and on.

This year - well basically as soon as it finished it was forgotten. The few tapes I did have all been re-used without a second thought. BB3 all I can say is

I was looking in W H Smith's on Saturday at books and not a sign of the BB3 uncut video or book. The BB2 ones were still big sellers until well after Christmas. That must tell Endemol something. Roll on Celebrity BB.:joker :

I know what you mean . Last year I bought the book, the video, the dvd and the calander.
My calander has pride of place on my kitchen wall and all the pictures bring back good memories.
Like you I taped so much this year and now am taping over them without a second thought. Something I wouldn't have dreamed of doing last year.
This is one occasion I wish I could turn the clock back to last year.
Will we ever see their like's again????? I doubt it very much.

Will anyone else own up to still looking at BB2 tapes from time to time???

Well, you won't be amazed to know that I do. Everytime I go through them I notice something new.

Last time I looked at them I noticed a little snippet where Brian and Paul took on their nickname personas.

They were dressed up for either the drum kit or the playground task, can't remember which, and Brian said, posing,
" Gingivitis Man"

to which Paul replied, also posing
"and Urrrmmm Man" (pulling the face they always did when they mocked him)

So he knew about it, and still took it in good part. BHLCS!!!

I am almost cured from last year. Not entirely, and I doubt I ever will be. In fact, those photo's in heat quickly reminded me of that.

I don't want to be.

I think we were privileged to have that particular group of people, at that time, in that place. They weren't for the most part extraordinary in any way, but they were all fundamentally good people. Yes, even Elizabeth. She just wanted to win I think.

Some of them subsequently behaved in ways they might feel a little about, and occasionally, their mums might have felt rather .

All in all though, they were less calculating and certainly less contrived than BB3 housemates.

I have little or no interest in Jade and co. I wish them no harm, but skim quickly through anything relating to them.

Contrast this with a mention of any BB2 HM!

Just that glimpse on the top of heat yesterday in the newsagent of Helen gallumphing along to keep up with Paul, and I'm grinning like a Cheshire cat.

happy, happy days. Can't wait to talk about them again ad nauseum on November 2nd!

:thum bs:

I too have the calendar a present from my surrogate sons in work = it has pride of place on the wall opposite my desk. It seems to be stuck on Mr September for some reason

As I have said in an earlier thread I would have been quite happy if they had replayed the whole of BB2 this year. I would have been glued again I am sure. I am still trying to get in touch with the bloke who videod the whole 1,000 plus hours, but no luck so far. Will keep on the trail.

Like you, ROB, I still watch my BB2 tapes, yet I've not once watched my BB3 tapes since the programme finished.

Like you, Busy Bee, my BB2 calendar graces my wall at work. I also have "The Look of Love" wallpaper on my PC, courtesy of one of my bosses.

The people at work are very understanding of my BB2 obsession although they do "smile" occasionally, for example when I started raving about the Helen and Paul pictures in Heat this week.

No, Jbellemeg, I don't think we will every see their like again and yes, ROB, I think we were privileged to see BB2 in the first place. I don't want to be "cured" either!!

*** Stands up and puts up hand ***

Yes ROB, I do still watch my BB2 tapes and, after all this time, I still find them wonderful, fascinating, entertaining and irresistible.

There was no-one in BB3 who had me crying helplessly with laughter like Brian, Bubble and Dean.

No-one who invoked strong defensive and protective reactions such as those I felt for Helen and Paul when Elizabeth was attempting to put a spanner in the works.

And no-one for whom I frantically search out information on, be it TV appearances or magazine articles (even Alex who was my fave).

Jbellemeg, I think you're absolutely right to ask if we will ever see the likes of the BB2 contestants again - they were a unique blend of personalities and the end result was, for me, pure magic.

P.S. BusyBee - my BB2 calendar is still on September too - wonder why?

and I wish them every happieness for the future

I loved Big Brother 2 - and still do!!! Paul and Helen kept me entertained for the 3 months they were on our tv - I lived and breathed them - and this site kept me entertained for months on end after the show finished - perhaps even a year.
But it goes to show that it is the members that is keeping this board alive, not Big Brother. We all ssem to have a lot in common, set aside BB - so even though I would love to bring back the days of Paul and Helen and the endless discussions we had, the board is still buzzing today with little mention of the BB lot - and lets keep it that way!!

Have just got my treasured BB2 tapes out (yet again). Thought I ought to get well and truly in the mood for next week.

I quite agree ROB every time I watch I notice something new be it a special look, a nod of the head, an aside, a comment etc. I suppose hindsight puts a different perspective on things. If they only knew then what they know now.

Discolady you missed out on the calendar. It has graced my wall in work all year and as for SEPTEMBER well it is worth having it for that alone. Will say no more.

ROB and Discolady, you can still order the BB2 calendar from Amazon. Just do a search for Big Brother calendar. It's been reduced from £6.99 to £5.59.

That guy should be made an honourary member of this forum.

Big Brother 2 was so much better than 3. The '3' lot just weren't as likeable people in my book.

Though I think I would disagree that no one was interested in the exploits Big Brother 3 housemates post-house.

Take a look at this thread from Digital Spy (attempting to read all of it is not recommended):

I think you are right James. people are still interested in BB3 contestants. And, as Adele has her own show, and I imagine Alison will be back on screen again, that won't fade too quickly. As individuals, some of them seem set to do well in the media.

I wonder though if BB3 officianado's will still be discussing golden moments from their time in the BB3 house this time next year? I don't think they will really. After all, I am yet to find anyone who has looked at any of their BB3 tapes.

The only bit of recorded BB3 I have seen is the final, and that was just to see if I could catch a glimpse of 'little' me!!
