Came across this article on ICNewcasle, which says that Jonny is to star as the Genie of the Lamp in Newcastle Theatre Royal's winter production of Aladdin.
I'm not convinced that Jonny's made the right decision, but if that's what he wants to do .......................... |

I wish him all the luck ine the world. I think he is very well qualified to do panto. I never thought he would get better offers then that, and without trying to sound to happy, I think he has got what he deserved. He behaved in the house like it was a panto.
It's good to see that Jonny is at least getting some work. I always remember him saying the proudest moment of his life was getting on Big Brother. I would have thought being a fireman, saving people's lifes would make you more prouder then getting on TV! |

As my 'secret' ambition had always been to play the 'Good Fairy' in any Panto, I say well done and GOOD LUCK ! Remember always 'each to his own'. Jonny - ENJOY |

More news on Jonny's forthcoming panto role from the icnewcastle website:
Jonny's wish comes true Sep 3 2002 By The Journal Big Brother runner-up Jonny Regan took on another persona yesterday as he limbered up for his upcoming panto role. Jonny the Genie will be gracing the stage in Aladdin at Newcastle's Theatre Royal at the end of the year. And he couldn't be happier about it. "It's great that the first big thing I'll be doing is in the North-East," he said. "It was only two weeks ago when my agent told me they had offered me the part and I thought, what could be better over the Christmas period than being on stage in Newcastle and making lots of kids laugh. It's going to be fantastic and I'm really looking forward to all of it." County Durham fireman Jonny added that he was also excited about working with co-stars John Inman and Stu Francis - but that his role on stage would be putting paid to a New Year's Eve trip with his fiancée, Joanne. He said: "There are a lot of performances to do and Joanne was going to take me away for New Year - but I won't come off stage until after nine o'clock. Never mind. I'm sure we'll have a great time anyway." Since leaving the Big Brother house in July, Jonny maintained a low profile. But he said the offers have been pouring in. He said: "I can't say too much about anything at the moment but there are lots of things happening." * Aladdin will open at Newcastle Theatre Royal on December 9 and will run until January 19. For tickets call the booking office on 0870 905 5060. |

Aaah, Stu Francis.
So pleased the lad has a gig. How I've worried about his career. Who would have believed a grape crusher would be in such little demand? As for Jonny, to be honest, it's very difficult to know how anybody will fare in the longer term. Lots of things will come in during the early months. He hasn't got the charisma of Brian and is unlikely to get the opportunity that Brian had. If Ant and Dec hadn't left when they did, it might not have happened. The fame machine turns over quickly and talent is not all that reliable as a predictor of success. I mean, take poor old Stu............. |

You know Stu Francis is a funny bloke, years ago I used to work in Pontins did a few season's there as a Games Room Assistant. I used to watch him doing the mid-night cabaret, at first I thought it would be all this crush a grape stuff, but he wasn't he can tell a good few adult gags I can tell you. I reckon he's still doing the Pontins and Butlins gigs and people are getting a b****y good show. Go for it Stu.
