Which is my point, someone who's cool doesn't act like that. Even if they're afraid of spiders or ...craneflys... 
It just seems to me that he's often embarrassingly starved for attention and the way he goes about getting it is really tiring.
Says something vague about something "really big" that's going to happen and then refuses to clarify so everyone will chase after him.
