Dark Horse v Clothes Horse I don't understand Siavash's argument at all. Or at least, I did, but it was a different one from before. The first time he came up with this "I'm taking myself out of the game" nonsense was when Isaac came in. It made him realise that Noirin wasn't interested in him at all, and that he'd probably lost his girlfriend Laura into the bargain. After that it moved from being a "I want to be up for eviction" every week ploy to "I want everyone to be up for eviction" every week ploy. No wonder he put people's backs up. Then, the week Freddie got evicted, he stopped playing and nominated at usual. The following week he got tremendously irked by people wanting to evict Bea - even though he'd nominated her the previous week. And now we're back to square one. This time he didn't have the defence of not knowing what the punishment would be. He also brought up two more contradictory arguments. One, he wanted himself to be up because he didn't want a free ride. Two, he wanted to be up against Marcus and David. So he does want to be in the game after all. And he wants David to go on Friday. No wonder they all got riled with him. Still, it was one of those arguments where the person in the right was also in the wrong. Arguing isn't just about being in the right, it's about the way you argue. Charlie was way too vicious, and when he brought in the irrelevant stuff about Siavash's girlfriend he revealed just how angry and competitive he can get. Siavash, on the other hand, although he didn't have a leg to stand on was relatively dignified, even if he did twitter on pompously about doing the "right thing". I actually liked Siavash a lot when he first came in. He was witty, and in a house of prima donnas, was happy to let others take centre stage. It also takes an awful lot for him to slag people off. The closest he's come is criticise people for playing to the cameras, and not being as nice as they pretend. Both David and Hira got accused ( behind their backs ) of this. But he lost it for me with his panicked reaction to Isaac, and his grandstanding over the nominations has been painful to watch. I'm basically with the others. He wanted David to be up, because he feared being up against Marcus only. Marcus said so, and I can't see any other reasonable explanation. I'm delighted David isn't up and I'll be even more delighted if Siavash goes on Friday. Compare his behaviour with Marcus. Marcus calmly told people he wanted to go so please would you nominate him. He didn't make a big deal about it. And this week, when he wanted to stay, he told them so. But they were still perfectly entitled to nominate him. You can't say fairer than that. Another one I had liked off and on throughout the series is Sophie. She must have thought that when BB wheeled out the geography test that she had scored with the public with her dizzy blonde persona. Wrong! It was a real stitch-up. I've never liked people pretending to be stupid, and I don't think Sophie's stupid at all. Witness her view that the winner would either be Marcus or Siavash. She can talk and analyse and be sharp as nails if she wants to. So why the dumb blonde bit? Sophie, you can do so much better! Still, it seems to have worked. She's the favourite to win right now. And Marcus is the likelier to go on Friday. Aaaarghhh! In other news: there will only be one more series of BB on Channel 4. Good. They needed three million viewers to be profitable, and they're under two. The sooner it moves to a more sympathetic channel the better. |
