Since I was a teenager whenever I've been on holiday and told people I'm from Essex the usual response is "ooo, an Essex boy" which makes me think to myself what the hell is that suppose to mean? They expect me to litter my sentences with "innit" and "proper" and all this, and I don't use these terms in conversation ever.

We have our good and bad parts like most other counties in the country. Its just sad we have this stigma attached to us like a millstone around our necks.

I think it's a very labelled world.

Somerset - oo-arr
Geordies - Bit Thick
Yorkshire - Tough

etc etc

Sadly labels exist!
