A huge amount of time and effort is put into our projects regarding BIg Brother. We make sure very efficiently that we back the right person to win.

Betting occurs as well so we have money at stake to ensure that a certain housemate wins.

We made sure that Rachel won last year, helping us win thousands of pounds.

I think you're mixed up with Islam. We're allowed to gamble.

Oh, don't get the wrong impression. The main topic of conversation is regarding God, Jesus and our faith.

But after sermons and in our meetings, we often talk about current affairs and television programmes. Big Brother often pops up as it's such a controversial programme, but a show which makes our organisation a lot of money.

See, this is the problem (one of many) with this lame 'online character' because its being done by someone with zero concept of how Churches, Church culture or typical Christian doctrines or world views would work.
You need to know something before starting up the 'mock character'. He doesn't.

Gambling is mostly 'frowned upon' and even the RC's just recently had 'basement bingo' canceled by the new Pope!

Churches cannot make a 'profit'. He could have said they made a lot of money to 'buy a new steeple' or 'hire a new admin' or even 'install padded seats'.
Churches are 'non-profit' no matter what they bring in,
and,
Wow.. I would be hugely surprised to find even a handful of Churches in the UK who are not experiencing massive downturns in their income. Ones operating surely do so by selling their land and buildings after everyone stopped attending 20 years ago sorry to say.

However..
.. Yes, there most definitely could be Pastors who use Big Brother as a sermon premise.
Undoubtedly as a sort of 'warning' lol.
But it would be used as a sort of 'example' or 'microcosm' of society to demonstrate some issue,
or,
It might even be brought up as a sort of 'shame mirror' on ourselves (the congregation) when we might discover that we are willing to spend 8 hours a week devoted to this 'BB House' and even 10 quid on the phone,
yet,
we can't even bring ourselves to 1 single hour a week a few dollars less for the house of God?
Something like that.

Not long ago Rev. Ian Brown from Londonderry Free Presbyterian did a sermon on 'Diversity' from BGT and Susan Boyle heh:
http://www.sermonaudio.com/source_de...rceid=ianbrown
So a way to introduce the need for diversity in the Church and so on.

But anyways, none of this speaks to this lame online 'Gavin' character thing.
And I appreciate a good online character but this is definitely lame.
As Bradley says - it is so lame it really just becomes 'spamming'.

Gavin has no concept of how certain churches or doctrines work.
He is no christian and El proximo you are on the button.
Gavin would curl his toes at some of christianity's more right wing church attendees and their doctrines.
Heck some christians would condenm Gavin to the pits of eternal hell for some of his veiws that Big Brother is even watched by him and his soul would be in eternal torment for wanting Sophie to win as Sophie, Charlie, Rodrigo, David, Lisa ,Marcus, and Siavash for one unholy reason or another would not make the gates of Gods Mansion and would be dammned to eternal torment.

Yes Gavin is playing a role of "The church Of Big Brother" and mocking those that follow and put our interests into the show, just as some members of certain types of christianity would do the same .

Good game, but a troll all the same.

Siavash is a dirty player of the game, one of the worst ever. He totally disrepescts the rules of the game which he should have been punished for. He should have been kicked out by Big Brother.

He is a slimy human being, cheating on his girlfriend by kissing the odious Noirin. How dreadful! If Siavash were a good looking female and cheated, then he would had been slammed in the media. He is a disgusting person.

Marcus on the other hand is one of the legends of the show. One of the best housemates ever, having fun, rebelling but not in a nasty way to affect the rules of the game. He is The Irrepressible Dark Horse.

Marcus is the Church's partial favourite.

Our endorsement goes to Sophie, the nicest person in the house. SOPHIE WILL WIN. SHE WILL WIN. THE CHURCH WILL ENSURE SHE WINS.

But first we have got an operation in plan to remove Siavash the snake rat from the house. We forgive him for what he has done as we are Christians, but we can not forget. He must be evicted.

EVERYONE EVICT SIAVASH. THE CHURCH WANTS SIAVASH GONE.

THE CHURCH HAS SPOKEN.
Agreed, slimey sneaky snake Siavash to be evicted this Friday! Let's DO THIS guys! Vote Vote and Vote some more!

This is getting simply pathetic now.

And the desperation of certain FM's bumping every anti Siavash post is just laughable really.
