Will's triumph was a victory for real music over manufactured pop.

Exactly. Maybe the record industry will sit up and take note that the majority of the British public don't want to listen to manufactured dross - we want real music from someone who can actually sing.

"Will gave the performance of his life on the single Evergreen. It was one of the best bits of TV I've ever seen."

If this is indeed a quote from Simon Cowell, then he's just gone up a notch in my estimations. Will's performance of 'Evergreen', as I've said in my previous post, was nothing short of sensational.
