A CAMCORDER fan has become the latest smash hit on YouTube - by showing just how TV's Derren Brown "predicted" the Lotto.

Viewers left agog by the magician getting all six balls right are flocking to the internet site to see amateur film-maker Cyriak Harris expose it as camera trickery.

And just as The Sun said all along, the apparent miracle was down to a secretly split screen - as our stills from Cyriak's video made in just half an hour clearly show.

By last night an amazing HALF A MILLION people had logged on to see the 34-year-old's film, which recreates the illusion in his living room in Worthing, West Sussex.

Beaming Cyriak said of becoming a cyberspace sensation: "I'm amazed."

He said: "I watched last Wednesday's show, then tried filming it on my own next day. It's a classic trick used in bank heist movies - put a still image in front of a security camera while they crack a safe."

Derren's live Channel 4 show had a TV on one side of the screen, where he stood watching the BBC's midweek draw. On the other side a tray held balls with numbers facing away from viewers.

Seconds after the draw he stepped across to turn it round - and the 2.7million who tuned in saw all six numbers were correct.

He promised to reveal how he did it in a follow-up show - but just gave viewers a load of gobbledegook.

Cyriak's film shows how a still image superimposed on the side the balls were on would have hidden an assistant simply lining them up as numbers were announced.

At one point in Cyriak's film he illustrates the illusion by reaching across to the other side of the screen and showing his arm disappear.

Cyriak, who works as an animator, said the giveaway was the slight camera shake on Derren's show. He grinned: "Because of the work that I do I am aware of putting in camera movement to hide tricks."

I don't know, it really was too shaky for a splitscreen. Something would have given it away like the bricks not aligning properly in the background and stuff.

The video says it could be an artificial shake, ie the camera was actually static

But its down to the BBC to reveal the actual numbers, that would not have been revealing the numbers of the draw. Otherwise when you get a winning ticket you could apply the same principle

Do you think he was saying he actually did rig the balls? He went through that lengthy explanation then added how he could have rigged the balls but didnt and couldnt admit to it if he did. I reckon he did just rig the balls
