I'll be as tactful as possible, although I expect a certain one or two members will troll me again.
What Faria said is naive, thoughtless and maybe pushing the odd boundary. As a black man, in a foreign country (aka UK) I have had far worse thrown at me, which people do not consider racist. Racism is used far too often in arguments. If what Faria said is racist, then so are the comments about the USA made by certain housemates, yet this barely gets mentioned, possibly because it affects none of those 'offended' |

So your saying that Farias assumption that the British Public not letting a Black or Asian person win Big Brother is not racist?

I think her comments were ill judged, not racist. There is a difference. If I took all ill judged comments to heart, I could cry racism every 5 seconds. I'm interested as to why making fun of Americans is not considered racist to you, but Faria's 'assumptions' are. |

Firstly my reply was not directed at you and secondly i never said the comment towards the Americans was not racist, but as a member of the public I have every right to take her insults personally and as far as I am concerned they were racist comments. If you don't think her saying that I as a member of the public will not vote for a Black or Asian person in order for them not to win BB is racist then I don't know what is!

However, I do think people jump on anything, and I do think British people like a good moan about anything and everyone. |

There comes a time when people can interperet anything as racial. I don't see many threads on the USA comments, funny that. You should have been here for BB6, no-one in the house could even look at anyone else without race being brought into the topics here. I just think people like to make themselves noticed around here. |

Are you saying that I am Black and take no crap?
Noun form, a cop-out, developed from the late 1950s onwards until it became nationally known in the mid-1960s -to mean an excuse, a pret ext, a going back on your responsibilities to avoid trouble, a cowardly or feeble evasion. |
