I agree with you, BigSister. The Pop Idol final should definitely be in the Top 10.
I can still see the disbelief and pure delight on Will's face when he won. BHLCS. A magic moment. ![]() |

These are the nominations
1. Halle Berry's tears at the Oscars When the star of Monster's Ball stepped up to the podium at the Academy Awards she was overcome with emotion. Mind you, she had good reason - she was the first African-American to pick up the best actress award. 2. Pop Idol - The Final: Will v Gareth It might seem like a long time ago now but the battle between Will Young and Gareth Gates had us all on the edge of our seats back in January. 3. Footballers' Wives Kyle, Chardonnay and one of the most popular ITV dramas of 2002. The football floozies fought tooth and nail to keep their men and their lavish lifestyles in this Dallas for the 21st Century. And Chardonnay's pink meringue wedding dress was the icing on the cake... 4. Kylie's top (and bottom) performance at The Brits She wowed us all with her Blue Monday-esque performance of Can't Get You Out of My Head. And that's not all - in 2001 the celebrity style icon of the year was 'Beckham's Mohican'. This year it was 'Kylie's Bottom'. 5. The Boy Can't Help It Fascinating BBC documentary which told the moving story of people like John Davidson and their battle with Tourette Syndrome. Despite his condition, John has not lost his sense of humour - he admitted that his tics and involuntary shouting would have made it impossible to follow his childhood dream of being in the SAS. 6. Great Britain's women win the curling gold in the Winter Olympics Captain Rhona Martin and the all-Scottish team brushed their way to victory on the ice at Salt Lake City, and returned home to a heroes' welcome. 7. Sex and The City Still looking for love in every corner of Manhattan, Carrie and the girls shared more than brunch and fashion tips in this series which saw Samantha (almost) fall in love, Carrie reunited with the gorgeous Aidan, and a pair of Manolos ruined when Miranda gave birth... 8. Club Reps The show that put Faliraki on the map! From the sexual antics of Becky and Rachael to the bust-ups between Maz and her staff, this late-night series revealed the sizzling secrets of the Club 18-30 holiday. 9. Not only can he read minds he can even persuade bookmakers to pay out on losing tickets. 10. Commando Unmissable Channel Four documentary series in which World War Two veterans explained for the first time (many of them from their back gardens) how they became part of the best fighting regiment in the world. 11. The Robbie Williams documentary, Nobody Somebody Who can forget Robbie's candid film of his European tour? From the pre-show 'Elvis prayer' to getting pushed off stage by a crazed fan in Germany, Stoke-on-Trent's favourite son showed us what life's like as a gi-normous star. 12. Little Mo goes down in Eastenders The nation gasped in disbelief as little Mo Slater was found guilty of attempting to murder her hateful husband Trevor. Could meek and mild Mo survive the rigours of prison life? Would evil Trevor get his come-uppance? 13. The return of Auf Wiedersehen Pet Over 12m viewers tuned in for the return of Tyneside's very own Magnificent Seven. Not seen on our screens since 1986, the building site boys were back and better than ever, with a plan to sell Middlesbrough's Transporter Bridge. 14. Kim Cattrall discusses sex on Richard and Judy It was one of Richard and Judy's steamier outings when Sex And The City's Kim Cattrall and her husband appeared on the show to promote their book Satisfaction: The Art of the Female Orgasm. 15. The Book Group Channel Four's popular comedy about the strangest reading club you've ever met - an uptight American, a sportsman in a wheelchair and a bunch of bored footballers' wives share their literary loves at their weekly meetings in Glasgow. 16. England 1 Argentina 0 Office life came to a stand-still and the nation held its breath as David Beckham finally took revenge for the Hand of God by thundering a penalty into the Argentine net, securing one of the sweetest English victories ever at a World Cup 17. Edwardian Country House Viewers were hooked by the goings on upstairs and downstairs in this 'historical' docu-soap. What the butler saw included the hall boy and the kitchen maid, the footman in a drunken heap and the French chef calling the Master of the House a fraud. 18. Black Books One of the comedies of the year - a zany, surreal series about a tiny book-shop run by chain-drinking, smoking Bernard (Dylan Moran), hairy hippy Manny (Bill Bailey) and their friend Fran (Tamsin Greig). 19. The Secret Life of the Office Fascinating BBC2 fly-on-the-wall documentary about the Holiday Autos call centre run by businessman Clive Jacobs. 20. The Osbournes Trend-setting celebrity docusoap starring the bat-chewing Brummie and his foul-mouthed brood. They might play death metal and throw hams at their neighbours, but they're still our favourite dysfunctional family. 21. Will their parents and friends pick their perfect partner with the help of relationship experts Jenni Trent Hughes and Ben Renshaw, or will it be a dating disaster? 29. Lennox Lewis knocks out Tyson It was the fight the world had been waiting for and few were disappointed. Lennox had shown that Iron Mike had had his day as he held the Union Jack aloft in the ring. 30. Six Feet Under And you thought the Osbournes were dysfunctional! The fact the Fishers run a funeral home is probably the least weird thing about them - Ruth's repressed, David's struggling with his sexuality and Nate's got a troubled girlfriend... 31. Kelly Osbourne sings Papa Don't Preach at MTV Movie AwardsOzzy's little girl launched her own singing career with a nod to the Material Girl at this year's MTV Awards. Forget about Lewis v Tyson - these were the lord of the rings in 2002. 34. 24 Never have so many twists and turns been packed into 24 hours of television. Jack Bauer (Keifer Sutherland) and his family were on a white-knuckle ride from the moment the clock started ticking. There were bodies everywhere when it finally screeched to a halt. 35. Big Brother III The press said it was over even before it began but BB3 was the most popular series so far. Incidents like Sandy's rooftop escape, Alex's tantrums, Jade's strip tease and Kate's victory smile will live on ...at least until BB4 begins. 36. Make Me A Man Most girls want expensive dresses and a discount card for the best hairdressers in town. These girls wanted to be boys. The West Wing Look and learn Dubbya! Martin Sheen and Rob Lowe starred in the multi-Emmy Award winning series about the best president America never had. 41. The Commonwealth Games On the eighth day god created Manchester, and in 2002, it was the venue for victories by some of the world's finest sports stars - from Paula Radcliffe's triumphant win in the 5000 metres to Jonathan Edwards' giant leap and turbo-charged 'Thorpedo' - Aussie Ian Thorpe. For once the sun was shining on the famously rainy city. 43. Stars and Their Doubles From Brad Pitt-a-likes to Curly Watts-a-likes, never before have so many doppels ganged up together in one place. They even turned a man who owned a stuffed mouse into a love god! 45. Celebrity Fit Club Probably the toughest campaign trail Ann Widdecombe's ever been on. Sgnt Harvey barked out the orders as the celebs battled the bulge for charity. But just how much does Rik Waller really weigh? 46. Angelle - Vibe TV Forget about Popstars - this girl found another way of trying to get to the top in 2002 - get your own TV channel! Angelle was the unexpected delight you came across while flicking through the satellite stations in 2002. 51. Faking It Another fantastic instalment of the award-winning series, including the ex-Navy man who put on his stockings and became a drag star! 52. Bo Selecta Jade Goody's number one fan Avid Merrion got his own show which soon picked up a loyal following - and transformed the likes of garage star Craig David into a rubber faced Northerner. 56. This Life star Andrew Cassidy and his chums get into so much trouble, it's a wonder they're not on detention! 57. The Edwina and John affair Who'd have thought it? The love affair of the century between the grey man in the blue underpants of politics and the former junior health minister - and Sir Trevor McDonald proved a fine shoulder to cry on! 61. Michael Jackson's Face He was the face of the late Seventies and early Eighties. And this Channel Five documentary showed why he should have stuck with it instead of changing his looks every five minutes. 62. Lad's Army They might think they're tough, but today's layabout lads had no idea what was in store when they signed up for a step back in time to the days of national service for this ITV series. 63. Thanks for giving us the whole list of nominations, BigSister - hope that was a 'cut and paste' job and that you didn't have to type them all out!
![]() ![]() I'm sure Beckham's penalty against Argentina will be high up the list (can't see the significance myself! ![]() And Brian May playing 'God Save the Queen' on top of Buckingham Palace was truly spectacular. ![]() But I agree with Miriam and Janette - it's the Pop Idol final for me. ![]() |

I don't really get the office. Although that clip where Ricky Gervais is dancing is pretty funny but apart from that its not my sort of thing. One of my fave comedies has to be Friends!!!!! British sitcom wise I'd go for Two Pints of Largar and a packet of Crisps.

Well, my sister - a friends fanatic showed me a newspaper article (and no, not the Scum, but the Daily Mail) and it say7s the gang have agreed to a contract of another series and a MOVIE - its goin to feature nudity (Joeys butt!) which was never usually allowed on the tv screen.
I'll try and dig out the article for you James. Could this BE any more exciting? ![]() |

I've found this on a Friends forum:

![]() There's also a link to an interview with Matthew Perry where he says a Friends movie will never happen. He also says that this year is the last though, and we know that's not true. Never say 'never'! ![]() ![]() |

Friends is brilliant! I watch the repeats they show all the time and I know whats gonna happen but I never get bored of it!
Im sooooooo glad I dont have to wait for them to show it on E4 before I get it on channel 4 this year! Back to the 100 best tv moments thing - Do you think Eastenders and Coronation Street were both only allowed to appear in the top 100 once? Coz they are pretty much the most popular shows on TV so surely more than one moment for each would have been voted for? Do you think they just took the most popular moment from each soap? |
