They were right to exclude him. What kind of idiot takes a dagger to school?

It's fair enough, Nobody should be allowed knives in school regardless of religion. It'd make a mockery of any progress made against knife crime.

That is taking it a step too far. I tend to not mind a lot of religious things like this, being an open minded person.... but If a British woman was in a strict Muslim country wearing a Bikini, walking through the street on a hot day near a beach, which in Britain is what is very common, there would be outrage. I think that people of different religions need to respect the fact that Britain has a culture, just like them, and even if it is a lot less controlled, the fact of the matter is that they need to respect our culture, just like we respect theirs. Burkas.. Fine. Necklaces and Jewish hats.. fine. But that is taking it too far. It goes against all British law and policies.

I am all for religious freedom of expression and all, but that is taking the Piisss! A dagger? Obviously its conotation in the religion might exist, but its a weapon, no matter how you put it. No one should be allowed a weapon regardless, of religion. I have no problem with people wearing hijab and such, but Geez!! even a smaller one is unacceptable imo.
