I don't believe we should bring the death penalty back. It is not effective anyway. In America, the most violent states have the death penalty (probably because they are the most violent states), yet the rate of violent crimes has not gone down in those states - if the death penalty was a deterrant (sp), then surely the crime rates would have gone down?

I do believe however that a life sentence should MEAN a life sentence.
