Was it a fair song choice by Simon?

btw. the movie Gummo received a lot of attention. I am doing some research about the song, here is an example of the impact it has on that particular movie:

Totally fair, Gummo's a film so why should it's music be excluded. Louis walsh has adopted the 'rulebook' persona for laughs basically.
