Pop princess Kylie Minogue is reportedly set to star in Grease 3.

The Aussie pop icon will play the teenage daughter of Olivia Newton-John - Sandy in the original movie.

Newton-John had wanted her own 16-year-old daughter Chloe to appear alongside her.

But the word from Hollywood is that studio chiefs have lined up Kylie, even though she is 34.

"Kylie definitely doesn't look anything like her age and shouldn't have any problems playing a teenager," a source told the Daily Star.

Newton-John can hardly complain - she was 30 when she appeared in the first film, which became a cult classic.

John Travolta, her co-star, has also signed up for Grease 3, which sees the pair returning to Rydell High for a 20-year reunion.

Stockard Channing - flighty Rizzo in the original - is said to be on board as well.

Channing is now better known as President Bartlett's doctor wife in the hit TV series, the West Wing.

Wouldn't it be great if they could get all the original Grease cast back together for this!

I know Olivia N-J was 30 when she appeared as Sandy, but I just can't picture Kylie as a teenager . . . . can you?

Grease 2 wasn't up to much, was it? That starred Michelle Pfeiffer and ... can't remember.

And Kylie Minogue as a teenager? Hmm. How about Holly Valance.

No it wasn't. It was on TV a little while ago and I thought it was pretty bad.

However, it didn't have any of the original cast members in like this one will, so that sounds promising.

I agree with you, LEE. It DOES sound promising. Grease was such a brilliant film and I think it's a wonderful idea to have the original cast for Grease 3.

I LOVE Grease 2! It might not have been quite as good as the 1st one but I still liked it! Lol!
