That's because The Matrix never dealt with the fragility and chaotic nature of human existence, it questioned what human existence was/power/causality etc. Two totally different ideas. Besides, you have to admit, if you are going to call The Matrix pretentious, a lot of people consider Darko to be just as bad. It's completely lost on some folks.

Not me though, I loved it!

Ever see that one with the feller from Angel and the chick from Scrubs? And Edward Furlong as the Crow? Get stoned and watch it, it's the funniest bad film you will ever see!

The Hustler is underrated. Great Newman classic.

They were to do with existential themes though and Darko was more poetically and movingly dramatized for me.

Cool Hand Luke does get alot of credit though, nobody hardly ever mentions The Hustler, or The Color of Money.

Starship Troopers. I thought that was quality, I have it on DVD.

Cast Away. I thought was amazing? I know alot of people hated it because it's just another sad film with Tom Hanks in it.

Silent Hill. I also thought this was amazing for me it is one of the most effective horrors ever.

Van Helsing. Now anything to do with vampires I must see and this captured it well. Brilliant movie; Kate Beckinsale and Hugh Jackman work well together too.

The Mist. I enjoyed it alot and the ending had me emotional for some time.

Vanilla Sky. Tom Cruise scared me in this but I do enjoy watching it, it scares me in parts but parts make me laugh.

The Hole. 90s horror with Thora Birch and Keira Knightley...was genuinely scary without the need for goregoregore.
