Default Study reveals impact of immigration on UK faiths

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/news...UK-faiths.html

For those who just look at the church attendance figures of the main UK Christian communities as a faith barometer.

..The report suggests that the arrival of large numbers of immigrants will potentially challenge the trend of secularisation in the UK as they tend to be more religiously observant...

..According to the report, the past decade has seen a net increase of 275,000 in the number of Muslims who were born in Pakistan or Bangladesh but are now living in Britain - the equivalent to twice the population of Oxford...

..Catholicism has been boosted by the arrival of almost 600,000 immigrants from Poland..

..."In Lewisham, there are 65 Pentecostal churches serving the Nigerian community, and others serving the Congolese, Ghanaian and Ivorian communities."...

The Call to Prayer is the most awful sound known to man, and we have to put up with it in the UK.

It sickens me when certain posters on this forum have sneered at people's fears that certain religious faiths could, at some point in the future, pose a threat to this country's culture and way of life - implying that anyone who had such concerns was way of the mark - and just a racist idiot! This shows how justified such concerns are - and why an increasing number of people feel less inclined to be as tolerant as they have been in the past. It is a perfectly natural and justified reaction.

Well they must be seeing the UK as a free ride then. Nothing much else for them here.

Yeah I can really see that happening soon. It would be worse if it was a Muslim though, a Christians candidate could not really sell 'the Christian vote'. Whereas a Muslim candidate would get masses of followers, because they were Muslim.

Yes - it would no longer have anything to do with politics - only religion - completely contradictory to our way of life!

Well in Islam politics and Religion go side by side, that is a fact. That is why a Muslim PM could devistate the UK. Can't really see it happening just yet though. (I hope)

Indeed..Any MP of any religious addiction (I refuse to regard such beliefs as faiths they are in fact dangerous addictions of control freakism).

The muslim religious addiction being one of the most dangerous even in its so called moderate form. Its an addiction that wants world domination........There are political liberals in society that will enable them to get just that as time passess........When such liberals wake up it will be too late........Damage done and irreversable.......

I have heard several Muslims admit to wanting Islam to dominate the world. It is a very controlling religion and a very scary prospect. As you say - certain segments of our society need to wake up to this and do more to ensure that it can't happen here!

What people don't realise is the depth of faith Muslims have. They want Britian to become Sharia, not because of hate or anything, they see it as doing us a favour. They truly believe it is a better way of life. So it is not anything vindictive for the most part, it is just the way they think. If they are a devout Muslim Islam controls every aspect of their life. Muslims are urged to spread the faith, and in a more extreme term, conquer the world. Now obviously they are not going to rise up against Britian or anything, but they are doing it subtly believe me. All these Middle class Daddys girls who go and protest and stuff need to wake up from their Multicultural bubble and stop living out their parents pockets.

Afraid it's alrready happening. If you say too much against religions you are made to be some sort of villain......The liberals protect the controllers in the name of tolorence not caring that the controllers are themselvs completely intolorent......

I am of a certain age and have lived my life..I feel sorry for the young of today that will lose something precious. "Freedom".....
