Translation: How amusing. Are you silly? Of course it's not a toothpick. Rula was just checking to see if her false teeth were fixed accordingly, owing to her being mature in years.
Dennis feels the need to subdue his sexual frustration by chewing on a foreign object.
And, Pete would not have been chewing a toothpick for fear that his lips may explode.
