Well obviously if the albulm and singles sell copies then the public have bought into them?

I think some celebs are very selfless but others such as Simon are only doing it to come across good

This reminds me of the charity system in Waitrose. You shop in their supermarket and they give you a little green token when you pay for your goods. With this token you're supposed to then choose out of three charities which one you think is most deserving of their money. Now I dunno about you, but I think this is just ****ed up. Firstly, we are meant to choose only one out of three good causes? What happens to the other two? Are they kicked to the curb? Secondly, Waitrose can most definitely afford to give out money to charity - all three in fact! This is just a ploy to make them seem more charitable. This is good for their image and that is all they are concerned about. Same could be said for these charity singles too. Oh how lovely of you Cheryl Cole, to donate some of OUR money to Haiti. You must be a very generous person. Oh and I assume you won't be taking any of that money for yourself or using this grandiose gesture to up your profile??

Who knows, guess we'll see, obviously it's a good thing, but I also like to question motives.

Lol I see you are a sceptic Enid. You are probably right. However it is all good if it is raising money.. Yes celebrties will end up in our faces even more, pushing their charitable generosity into our faces.

Oh I disagree to that choose a charity at Waitrose.. why not give a third of the money to each of the 3 charities? but hey ho!

Yep indeed, I think it is alot more to do with image, how could the 'UK's sweetheart' (That sickens me btw) not be in the single. It's a rather odd mix too I thought which also, gives the 'stars coming together' look. It would be nice to know how much they're giving really. Also it would be nice to know why they feel the need to release an overly patronising song, i'd rather give the money and not buy it. At least I know where it's going.

If they really cared about those unfortunate people, they'd donate money themselves. Instead, they **** about posing in music vids and really they couldn't care less.

They want to take a leaf out of actor John Travolta's book and GO OUT THERE THEMSELVES. John recently flew into the country with his plane full of food and medicine, with doctors and aid workers in tow.

A lot of people don't realise that Simon Cowel only proposed this charity event because Gordon Brown told him to!

If people are pissed off with these "celebrities" then just don't buy the single. You should not have to feel inclined to purchase it. Celebrties do not personally know who you are anyway.

However the singles/albulm will sell a lot in the younger market.

I think most people, well i'd like to hope so, can see past the shallowness of the whole thing.

Yeah it's ridiculous, also people aspiring to be like her, thinking it all comes so easy.

Take for example Madonna who sung at the Haiti concert, She donated alot of money to the Haiti charity and actully helps the people in her charity Raising Malawi by building schools plus donates alot of money for her charity too.

A real icon and she sees where her money goes too.

A bit of both, I think, but only during disasters like this

Though some artists do charity work all the time, but dont go to the length of publicising every little event
